Just for curiousity sake (I am playing around with travel times, trying to figure out what causes increases and by how much) I checked how long it would take my Small Cargo Ships to travel to your system (and though I want to move towards Espionage and probes, I am a long ways from them as well ).

It will take me 6 hours 14 minutes for me to provide you with an answer on one of those planets, but for some reason I suspect you want a quicker answer then that

I just came back from work, so I rather go to bed first

I send out a few raids, and shipped off my precious recourses to myself in an effort to protect them overnight.
Since my advantures in Uni9 I'm quite worried about a sneak attack while I'm sleeping
I have 6 cruisers or so, but can, and will, build more tomorrow at leasure.


I founded my fourth colony at 3:214:5, a nice system with lots of inactives nearby.

Incidentally, my first colony ship is on the way, I'm thinking of using it for crystal/deut.

Edit: is it a mistake to put the colony in a different system, or should I put it in the same system?

Actually, since at the time of writing I'd just thrown up my level 2 shipyard and hit level 2 Combustion, I'm still a little ways off from actually being able to launch a raid, as I need to actually build ships with which to conduct the raid. So yeah, no rush, sorry if I gave the impression that I was impatient.

Don't send it with your fleet. It wil only slow it down.

There has to be a debris field around the planet you are attacking before you can send a recycler on a harvesting mission, so you have to wait until after the attack if there isn't one aready.

You can also send a Spy Probe on a suicide mission to create a debris field, send a recycler on it's way and time it so that your attack fleet arrives a couple of minutes before your recycler. In this case no one can beat you to it.

But whatever, take care to send it on a harvesting mission, not an attack mission!

Thanks for the info.

One thing I've learned is to send more than one spy probe.

Sent four probes to the planet that wiped me out, just to see why. No wonder I got my butt kicked.

could someone do a quick speedsim for me please? as I am not at my computer and cant find Skankys link

4cruisers + 4 large cargos (3 weapons and 3 armour tech) against 32 light fighter 12 solar sats and 12 missile launcher

oddly enough the game would make 4 cruisers and 3 large cargo take 3 1/2 hours to get there, yet 4 cruisers and 4 large cargos only takes 1 1/2 hours....
