Well to answer my previous question, the heavy fighter is 6k, 4k, 0, 0. Should have one tomorrow, once I've researched computers again to get more fleet spots. I've got lots coming in after my recent raids though.

Not a great haul, but it'll help by about 2 hours woth of metal production, and signifigantly more deuterium.

Hmm... did not notice this before, but the amount of stuff you can build on a planet is limited by the number of fields on your planet.

Hence when you go for a colony, you should only keep the ones with a lot of fields 150+

The best slots are 4,5 and 6 but there is some really severe randomness to it.

I don't suppose anyone has some (reasonably) current intel on raid targets close to my planet? I won't have espionage tech for a little while and don't really want to raid blind, though I do have an i player in my system, I can't bash them.

Yeah! Raided an inactive system with a fleet of 2 light fighters and an unknown planetary defense. I used 2 light and 2 heavy fighters along with my cargo ships.

I've only found 1 (out of about 20-25) inactives that had defenses and lost my fleet in a blind raid.

It takes over an hour to get to planets in your home system, and about 2 1/2 hours to get to ones 20 systems away.

I hear you on the blind raiding. It were painful to lose that light fighter and the three small cargos.

w00t I've hit the jackpot in a nearby system, over 100K resources for the taking on a couple of (i) planets, ofcourse others will also be a looting but hopefully I'll get a few good loads...

If you can punch through this defence, that be a bloody lot of resources you can liberate.
Which leads to another question - how long does it take for defences to rebuild? If you send 3 fleets a few seconds apart, do each of them have to destroy 10 small lasers?

That will tell you if a planet is defended, but not how heavily. Alas.
