Why am I always finding inactives that appear to be damn near completely loaded and defenseless?

I'll try to share some scans here so Tuber can hit it.

To put it bluntly, raiding. I found two planets with over 100,000 resources that I liberated, (one with over 100,000 resources that was deleted before I could suck it dry) and many other planets with over 50,000 resources. Loot loot loot!

At the moment I've scanned every system I can attack within 10 systems either side of mine and attacked anyone who is defenceless. Even some who are not inactive.

I have a recycler but that has not managed to even pay for itself yet. I would imagine it becomes invaluable when we are forced to start attacking others for their resources, but cleaning up other's sloppy seconds is rather poor income-wise.

I really need duet, I never seem to get a lot when raiding.

Check out the tech levels on my inactive cow:

Weapons: 40% Shields: 40% Hull Plating: 80%

This guy has 2 planets in slot 4,5 both totally loaded and with good mines. The duet is running out but metal and crystal hauls are still equal.

I have 8 small transports (so far) in 3 fleets hauling resources from his planets. I'm probably bashing but It's okay as long as he doesn't come back (and would you want to come back to your nice planets being picked clean by a bunch of vultures?)

Holy crap, my raids came back while I was at work (although I'm still there, but hey) and I had over 100,000 in metal!!

I built a new storage center and spent a great deal of the stuff. I need way more crystal still, so my new 270 field colony will be providing that.

Send out spy probes to inactive planet. Odds are the defences are gone so the probe will survive and you can use it again.

With the bashing rule, I look for planets with more than a total of 20,000 resources and then send two cargo ships on a raid. For inactive planets with more 40,000 I send out four cargo ships. And so on.

Then sit back and wait for the loot to come in.

How many cargo ships did you send out? All small?

A fleet of 4 large, then two more of 2 large. I had over 50,000 metal when I sent them out though. My defences are now beefed due to this excessive stockpile, which is nice.

I now have a small shield plus some heavy lasers along with the small lasers and missile launchers.

Awesome my cow has so far coughed up like 30K crystal and an equal amount of metal. The crystal should be about to run out, but there should be another 100k+ metal for the taking.
