Even the thread title proclaims my imminent death.

Actually, I request a change of character. To be picked by the mafia to die first sucks, but that is the game. To be picked by the GM to die first - that is not fair.

Ye of little faith. People disregard the guidance of the GM all the time. The mafia will choose the kills, regardless of the title.

And the people will choose the kills based on character.

As the Galactic Republic slowly wanes, several rebellions secretly sponsored by the trade federation sprouted. The first, led by Count Dooku, captured the Chancellor of the Galactic Senate, Palpatine, holding him for a substantial ransom. Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, and his precocious padawan, Anakin Skywalker, after leading a stunning raid, managed to successfully rescue the Chancellor. However, once Anakin finally secured Count Dooku, after a furious lightsaber duel, rather than assassinating him, successfully resisted his urges for revenge. The battered former Jedi Master, left in the custody of Obi Wan Kenobi, to be imprisoned in the chambers inside the Jedi Temple of Coruscant.

The second uprising, commanded by the Droid General Grevious also fell under the purview of Jedi Master Kenobi, and his padawan. In another daring raid, after enlisting the support of the clone troopers, Master Kenobi managed to finally defeat General Grevious, forcing his submission. Like Dooku, he remains confined in the Jedi Temple. These well-planned, and supplied rebellions have garnered significant concern among the Jedi Masters serving the prestigious Jedi Council, most notably the leader among them, Master Yoda. Further troubled by his inability to forsee the future, clouded by increasing darkness, he has summoned all of the Jedi Council to Coruscant to determine what actions they must now take. In an unusual step, he has opened the Council to members of the Senate, so that they may observe the deliberations normally conducted in secret. As such, some of the Senators have responded to the invitations, most notably, the Galactic Chancellor Palpatine.
This reeks so much of a certain Eventis Mafia.

Don't be so easily disheartened my fellow senator Jar-Jar. We have a job to do and that job is to assure further emergency powers for our Chancellor Palpatine are passed in the Senate so he can lead our Republic through these perilous times.

Since the recent events have been so challenging in capturing both Count Dooku and General Grevious, Master Yoda has requested that I perform a different task, to record the events surrounding this unique Jedi council. As such, I begin my account.

The senators were the first sign of change in the Jedi temple, 4 of whom managed to attend the first session: Padme Amidala, Chancellor Palpatine, Bail Organa and the ubiquitous JarJar Binks. I do not understand what the electors thought of JarJar, to elect him to the senate, but as often the case, the electors generally get the representatives they deserve. I have for some time been leery of the developing relationship between Padme and my padawan, Anakin Skywalker. I am not sure she is a good influence, in stirring up passions better left aside in the mastery of the Force. As for Palpatine, there is also much doubt about his motivations, particularly in his request to have Anakin serve as his liason with the Jedi council, despite not being a Jedi Master. I suspect he sees what we do, his incredible potential, and ability with the Force.

All of the above came with a fairly substantial security retinue, a sorry symptom of the times since the kidnapping of Chancellor Palpatine. After arriving at the Jedi Temple, Jedi escorts bolstered their security, until they could all be admitted to their chambers. Once the last senator, Bail Organa, had been secured, night fell, and all of the Jedi on the council prepared for what they expected to be a long and exhausting day.

No sooner did I arise the next morning, than I was summoned by Master Yoda privately. One of the Jedi Padawan assigned to the senators, reported the grisly death of JarJar Binks. He had been eviscerated by a lightsaber, a fact that greatly distubed Master Yoda. He suspected that given the skill evinced in the cuts, that the user must have been familiar with at least some of the Jedi lightsaber disciplines, or most possibly, have been a full-fledged force-user. If true, Master Yoda's suspicions place all of the Council under suspicion.
