It's a very American idea that cars are faster than public transit, iirc. Basically because our attitude towards public transit is "Yeah, we should probably have some." No train system of any meaning in our country, each city fends for itself, and some of our larger cities have essentially worthless public transits inside the city. Even Adam Smith would agree it makes sense to develop a good public transit system ...

I appended Pompeii to Trinarium 05.rar on Lemmy's site. Feel free to DL or not - it's not particularly relevant to the world economy, and has about 40 commuters on its one passenger ferry.
Also it's using the SmileyPlan for no cars. Whatsoever. Freight trucks are OK, but no cars.<Reverend> IRC is just multiplayer notepad.

Ive got a motorway and 2 railways going through on your side, they broke off when i imported your city, i connected them again my side, see if you can get them this time.
Also i dont want to connect those 3 roads you connected, theyre next to low density residential and will cause lots of traffic where i dont want it. I want them all to come down the motorway or rail.
The motorway comes out onto the tiny island on your side, perhaps you can use a T-intersection and split it to either big island so itll also be used for your own commuters aswell.Call to Power 2: Apolyton Edition - download the latest version (12th June 2011)

Taxes for Dirty Industry went up, Manufacturing demand went up, so built a new industrial zone.
City kept expanding...i initially took out a 30k loan to fund it, but i only used about 5k of that.

Subway created at the end to help my rich folk- thanks to the 20% taxes on middle and lower classes, i'm getting some! - on the plateau come down. It has connections south, west (on the south edge, Maq), and east.
Also created a ballpark in the new Commercial area.
