I'll take 1. I promise not to go nuts with god mode terraforming.

Are we playing on Hard difficulty?

        PS
All of my neighbors (1, 11, 10, 5) leave a little room. I'm making connections to each of you.

(Will wait to actually play until we decide what difficulty we want, and will Osweld play?)

EDIT: Well nevermind about which map Osweld will pick. Maybe I'll gather a little commerce from being the central city of all cities picked so far, but that's not necessarily allways true; last game, EPW definitely outdid in population terms everyone else even though he had only two neighbors.

You can expect a monorail connection from me (plus one to Ludd). Ill leave a gap all down that side after the first turn, but ill have to make at least one road connection to you before the first turn.

BTW i think we'll definitely be playing on Hard, no one had any problems before, plus its way too easy already i think.

Although from what i can tell on other maps, my region isnt actually part of Kitakyushu?

Looks like region 9 gets to build the offshore airport.

Hang on Mrmitchel, I have very little landmass available to me in Region 1, I'd feel a lot more comfortable if you'd let me place the connections since I may need to connect with up to 4 neighbors with extremely limited land space to do so.

Ok Atragon, I will not connect with you. And what a shame. I had rail, avenue, the works planned!

Maq I've already built a little rail but I will accept your monorail connection and maybe when the city is big enough will replace my existing network with the monorail.

I'll take 7, but probably add more flat land to the peninsula, in true Japanese urban style.

                      I'll take #16.

Map so far looks good, we've still got 3 medium cities open and eight small ones.

So how exactly does this work, out of curiosity?

You mean the way we're playing it? Each person takes a grid and plays for five years, uploads, and then everyone downloads each other's cities and plays another five years, ect...

Don't worry - with this many players, the economy keeps on booming.

A Farmers' Market has opened in Foodvale. Village elders hope it will attract business and prosperity to their corner of the woods. Townsfolk report seeing an increase in drunks on the village green, especially among game players talking about random things.
