So why is that unrealistic crap in every shooter game?
I know, it's annoying as hell, I take pride in shooting those guys. I've seen a server that even bans it.

I will occasionally jump but only once, I think anybody suprised would do the same. But the bunny hopping is annoying.

I've since learned how to time the bunny hoppers and enjoying shooting them when they hit the ground.

I think it's one of two or both of the following situations:

        1) Going to an uncapturable base and stealing the enemy equipment

        2) Going to any base and shooting the enemy when they spawn. The biggest losers do theis on the Karkand map, where they park a tank and shoot players as soon as they spawn. It's pathetic but once I see it happening, I'll C4 their ass or go anti tank and pick them off.

Then I'll get on and start calling them pussies after I blow them up.

Because games are not real and you cannot simulate real fighting experience without same consequences, thus ur opponents will always rush and jump to minimize chance of being hit by people who suck at shooting like Ted, who ends up believing bunnyjumping and "playing unrealistic" to increase chance of performing well is somehow morally and unethically wrong.

Really, its not rocket science people. People do thingsto maximize their win chances in any VS games. Theres nothing wrong with that as long as its within the games rule/system.

                My sentiments exactly...

"I'm gonna shoot you destroy ur base!"
"wait, no you shot me, and raped my base, thats not fair!"
                "Must find... excuse... i know!... u bunnyjumped!!!11!!"

                • Im playing Call of Duty II

very good ambient effects such as fog and smoke

Only thing I would like to see done is spawn protection to a minimal degree in some games
in real life you dont just ~poof~ appear in a fight

I would like to get 3-4 seconds to be able to at least duck and not have some dude (or dudette) with a Thompson hose me down

as for Bunny Hopping, thats unrealistic

                  but

                  WAR IS HELL

Well, I haven't had a chance to play any game though, I've worked the past 4 weekends in a row.

Well, I don't find it "morally and unethically" wrong, it just takes out the immersion factor in the game, and is, quite frankly, annoying.

In BF2, I learned to enjoy bunny hoppers, because I became an expert at killing them. It's hilarious, all you do is just pop them every time they land. The G36 is excellent for killing bunny hoppers.

                      • The scope for movement skills is a key element of any proper FPS. However, these WW2 team based games are more of an attempt to be widely appealing than one to be the next big game on the competitive circuit - it's arguable that the lack of bunny hopping (or equivalent) wouldn't really matter.

i dont play bf2, so i cant comment on what exactly is going on. But Why do they bunny jump if it doesnt work? surely it must work in that game. There are couple of FPS games where bunny hopping isnt practical because penalty is huge... i dont know if bf is one of them but if it is i dont see why ppl would be bunny hopping.
                          :-p

                          • if you bunny hop it reduces your stamina a bit so you cant sprint for as long.

I dont think bf is ever going to be all that realistic with kamakazi dive bombing parachutists taking flags etc.

It does work on some players who aren't used to it. But once you see it a couple of times it's easy to time.

And alot of the players that do bunny hop are from the Counterstrike crowd, so they still have the same mentality, going around looking for 10 knife kills a game, etc.

I think one jump after getting surprised is okay but the repeated jumping is retarded.

The car bombers are definitley annoying too, although they can also be spotted and blown to shreds.

                              • guys... stop using the phrase "bunny hopping" when talking about BF2...

there is no bunny hopping in BF2...

bunny hopping was only in older versions of Counter-Strike where you could jump and actually shoot accurately and move faster than running and you were quiet because no footsteps... I forget when they changed it... I think it was before the retail version of 1.3 of regular CS... it was an exploit that required you to jump, strafe and move the mouse at the same time... THAT IS BUNNY HOPPING

what you are experiencing in BF2 is NOT BUNNY HOPPING... it is just guys jumping because they are desperate to not die because a moving, jumping target is harder to hit than an immobile target...

sorry, I just had to clear all this up
