You really have no idea what you are talking about. Seriously.

Warriors are crappy if the player is crappy. Skilled warriors with good equipment (warriors are more reliant on good equip than other classes) are very very strong.

Druids, when played correctly, can be ridiculously strong. Sure, they are horrible for soloing because they kill slowly, but in the right hands they are nearly impossible to take down in PvP because of their excellent healing, rooting, and ability to take huge amounts of punishment when switching to bear form. They're even better in instance groups. Innervate lets a party member regen 400% mana WHILE CASTING, bear form can tank like crazy, they have a combat rez, etc etc. Seriously, the people that say druids suck simply don't know how to play well. Druids are one of the hardest classes to play, but they definitely do not suck.

If you would, please tell me why you think that shamans, shadow priests, and warlocks are the best.

They're not in the same category of games, so they're not compared.

That has nothing to do with anything. Water effects = water effects regardless of the game. Your argument is worthless. First you say they shouldn't be compared, then you say that HL2 water wasn't that great anyway. One clearly looks better than the other... end of discussion.

Diss. No matter what class you pick, it's gonna be a grind at lower levels. Unless you plan on partying with others most of the time I highly recommend you don't choose a Druid. They're good, but not at soloing.

I suggest you try a hunter. They are the best solo class, and you can change it up a little with pets, melee, and ranged attacks.

Good point, but at least instances can change it up a bit. There's also raiding. You can't really pvp anything at level 15.

Why do you always take everything from a competitive/strength perspective? The context was clearly in how fun the classes are to play.

No, it has everything to do with it. WoW is not a realistically-styled game, having water looking like it's got slicks of oil on it ala HL2 would not look better IMO. Part of the WoW style is the pseudo-cartoon colorful style, and that's reflected in the water effects -- not to mention the HL2 Water is something like a 200-instruction pixel shader, while the WoW water is about 5.

Yes, but I don't think the HL2 water looks very good, like you apparently do. I also think it would stand out even more, it doesn't fit with the art direction of WoW.

I'm as geeky as everyone else here and can appreciate the technology behind HL2's water, but it doesn't look very good IMO, and it would look even worse in WoW outside of HL2's bland earth-tone colors.

I kinda really want to get this game....is it worth it even if you have only about 5 hours for most weeks? I mean, can you still get a lot out of it? And furthermore, is it still good on a lower end computer, like one that can barely play Doom 3?

I admit the rage system kind of annoys me. I guess it's no different from mana- only in reverse. I like charge though because it allows me to get some rage quickly. I also have another skill that can allow me to generate rage. I have this warcry but I can't use it when I'm out of combat because I don't have the rage to do it with.

And does anyone know where I can get good equipment.

Actually I'm in the mood to play again today, I just wasn't in the mood after the server crapped out. I admit, those things really piss me off in games. I want to play when I want to play- not when they dictate I should play.

What level should I be before I can freely roam the lands? I want to meet up with other horde races at least. I haven't seen anything except undead, and that one gnome that attacked us.

Also I have this water breathing ability, but I haven't found any lakes or anything. Should I dive into the ocean? Is there anything down there? One coastline was dangerous because of these blue fin creatures. They were kind of tough compared to other creatures the same level.

I found some decent ore veins along that coast, if you're a miner.

Depends on the zone. Zones are geared towards certain levels.

The ability, IIRC, just lets you breathe longer underwater. The Warlock has a buff to let you breathe for 10 mins underwater, though.

I wonder if you can swim across the ocean. I like the one tip. They say not to jump out of the zeppelin baloons when they are flying . I'd imagine that would hurt.

You can't swim across the ocean, in "deep" water you get a fatigue bar that slowly decreases.

There are free boats/zeppelins that come every couple of minutes across the continents (Booty Bay <-> Ratchet, Menethil Harbor <-> Auberdine, Rut'Theran <-> Aubderine, Menethil Harbor <-> Theramore, Ogrimmar <-> Undercity, Ogrimmar <-> Grom'gul).

Each trip is about a minute long.

argh, I knew I would be in a bad area. I got disconnected yesterday, and now I appear in a group of monsters. And it seems there's a limit to how many healing potions I can drink in a certain amount of time.

I died, and I don't feel like going back to my body. Maybe I'll play some more tonight.
