I've had no problems finding parties at 3am, or 8am when I've done it before.

I can't speak for any given game, as i've only played 3, but FFXI compared to Everquest, I had a much easier time making parties very late in the night than in EQ. (Ryzom beta was my third, and that was too small to compare.)

In EQ, you could find some parties, but I often found that they were made up of poor skill combinations and/or poor ... skill. And even once you made one, at 3am, half the party was about to go to bed anyway; in FF, you could find lots of parties of people just getting started, at any time.

okay I got it, I should be playing instead of posting here. I want to read the manual first, but it is so huge. I have no patience to read manuals like I used to. I read the entire civ2 manual before I even played the game. But I'm anxious to play, so I don't think I'll read the entire manual.

                downloading updates right now

I enjoyed the opening movie. That was badass. The graphics were impressive. Blizzard has always been good a movies, but these put the diablo2 ones to shame. Possibly the best opening movie I have ever seen in a game.

nope. that's for consoles right? I have never played a console game (except ones on the PC such as Morrowind and Kotor).

and I admit I usually play older games, or older styled games. And not any shooters. Doom3 is the only shooter I bought, I didn't care for it that much.

FFXI is on PC (I've never owned a console...) It's a MMORPG, but also playable on the PS2.

hmm, the downloader doesn't like my Zone Alarm firewall. I diabled it, but I'm till only getting about 16 KB/sec. This could take a while. I hope the game itself doesn't have any problems with zonealarm. In the pro version they say you can open up specific ports for specific programs, but it doesn't appear I can do that in the basic free version.

I've seen the FFXI video, and I still like WoW's much better.

Diss: The problem is likely with the router...if you have one.

Try disabling P2P in the updater.

The in-game WoW graphics aren't doing much special technically, but the art direction is superb. WoW looks better than EQ2 (which looks bland and washed out IMO) and certainly better than FFXI.

Just got done playing many hours of this.

Overall it's defeinately better than Everquest 2. Everquest 2 is behind the times. Their loading screens is the best example of this. And the loading screens of EQ2 caused major slowdowns for my computer as I was talking about earlier in this thread.

WoW has no loading screens (except for instance dungeons and travelling to a different continent). This is how it should be. the graphics are pretty good, not as good as morrowind, but at least most comuters can run them.

No crashes in 12 hours of play. No major slowdowns. the installation took forevr though. These companies need to start putting out DVD's instead of CD's for installation. Get with the times people.

I'm playing a undead warrior on a roleplay server btw. I quickly figured out that even on non pvp servers there is pvp.

Some gnome was messing around with our town. I tried to take him on, but it doesn't show what level he is. He took me out in 2 shots with his gun. He took me out again later too. He must have been a pretty high level. I was only level 9 at the time.

It's not a bad game, I probably wouldn't play it if I wasn't bored of all my other games. It still can't compare to Morrowind or Neverwinter Nights. But it's still a fun game.

Look into getting a UI mod too. This will help with things like extra toolbars (as a hunter I need at least 3!), making map notes and showing you the levels of enemies that are way too high for you. Cosmos is probably the most popular.
To doubt everything or to believe everything are two equally convenient solutions; both dispense with the necessity of reflection.
