    Not So Holy Shield

Here is something to think about
Do unto others what has been done unto you.

The remainder of Agathari's fleet had met up with his old ally Min Grah and prepared for a joint strike. Reckoning that the Colonial Alliance would be making a final strike at JEBUS, Min and Agath set course for Senator Danq's capital on Coruscant.

Danq was well prepared from years of battle and aborted battle. His shields were up.

Torpedoes were spearheading the attack, and Agath lost a cruiser and a titan, while Min lost one titan and took damage to another.

    -------------------

When asked about his new dire situation, Agathari had the following to say:

"I have no need for worldly possessions, much less worlds."

His fleet maintenance crews thought otherwise, cannibalizing a laser dreadnaught, a laser titan, and a fighter battleship in order to keep the rest of the vessels working.

LD is an interesting order. I can't say I like it - rather just take everything with me or leave *just* enough to obliterate any tiny invasion in a LML-sized obliteration - but it does have something going for it - the likelihood it will go up against M.

If LD destroys the say tiny (2 frigate) invasion force, will the D not take effect then (as there's no more invading force) and no bases be lost?

        Spoils of War

Here is something to think about
People will make more of their money from wealth rather than from work. Somebody will have to be left to produce things, but that can be left to denizens of the Equadors and Indonesias of the world. We will be the people who own things, and they will be the workers.

Remarkably, not a single Overlord fell in the chaotic battles. But the balance of power was shifting between the haves and have nots. Back at the top was the old Emperor Basileus. Towards the bottom were the religious leaders and the outlaws. Had things really changed in the Galaxy?

I'd take most of my ships with me as well, but it doesn't fit in the planned battle so I didn't. In anycase, the "correct" number of ships to leave behind is hard to guess.

          The latter part is correct.

Also, remember defense is really about minimizing losses, so I'd likely put a D in there even if I do have my full fleet. (after firing everything of course)

An invading force must survive the casualty taking after round 3, so indeed an LD pattern that wipes out a small force will defend the bases.

To further elaborate on survival and capturing bases, the fleet must survive not just to the end of the battle, but the end of the round. Here is a full illustration of the matter:

            1. Theben has an OoB of LD.
            2. DrSpike sends a frigate at Theben. Theben destroys it, disengages, and defends his bases,
            3. Snowflake sends a huge fleet at Theben. Theben's fleet fights again, and is defeated in the first round.
            4. Gamecube arrives with "attack anyone" orders, and in the following battle, both Gamecube and Snowflake's fleets are destroyed.
            5. Theben keeps his bases as if nothing ever happened.

            • You lose all shields after losing your bases right?

Awesome round though. You saved your catspaw Vetko (Note: The Imperial Chancellry has stripped him of his title, the traitor) but at the cost of stirring the Divine Wrath of Basileus Navinwat!

                          • Thank you for not doing so, I wouldn't have minded on a turn where I did not contact you with "plans." But since I had.....that would have been very, very bad.
We're sorry, the voices in my head are not available at this time. Please try back again soon.

I realize that, but my orders were already long send in (and even resend) before your PM, and that was posted, so technically...

And I think Nuke owes me one as well.
