Hits are distributed first by OoB, and then by the size of the ship.
If the OoB were for example LFT ships would be destroyed in the following order
Laserfrigates
Lasercruisers
Laserbattleships
Laserdreadnaughts
Lasertitans
Fighterfrigates...
etc...

Alas, I have been vanquished.
