Anyone playing the Barbarian Invasion expansion pack?'There is a greater darkness than the one we fight. It is the darkness of the soul that has lost its way. The war we fight is not against powers and principalities, it is against chaos and despair. Greater than the death of flesh is the death of hope, the death of dreams. Against this peril we can never surrender. The future is all around us, waiting, in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain.'"

I am. Currently smacking the Western Roman Empire around with my Saxons. Just about to invade England.
The expansion doesn't bring a lot to the table for the money though. It was a "must buy" for me as I'm on a RTW modding team... not sure if I would have bothered otherwise (at least until some decent mods were out...)."Stuie has the right idea" - Japher

Yeah - I've been using only one army for most of the game (whereas in RTW I could have many armies running around). I've been running back and forth from one end of my empire to the other with my one army as my allies back-stab me. I just got enough money rolling in to build up a second field army... so now I'm contemplating my England invasion."Stuie has the right idea" - Japher

I have mixed feelings about getting the Xpack.
The new patch is supposed to fix some of the major problems in RTW that are also repared in BI.
But, if I get it this week, I can get it for less than $20 US out of pocket at Best Buy ($24.99 minus a $5 Rewards points certificate that I have to use in the next two weeks), but if I do not, I will have to wait awhile before I get it at that price again.
Maybe I'll get Kingdom of Heaven instead.Yes, let's be optimistic until we have reason to be otherwise...No, let's be pessimistic until we are forced to do otherwise...Maybe, let's be balanced until we are convinced to do otherwise. -- DrSpike, Skanky Burns, Shogun Gunner

I'll have enough fun with RTR for now... I do have to say that in the 6.0 version, the Greeks are seriously weakened as opposed to the previous versions!!! In just a few turns I can crush Pyrrhus, take southern italia, and reach out to the north just up to the Gallic border (no war with them just yet, but war will soon ensue probably, though I'm more inclined to attack Illyria)
As always, the only good troops are Roman.. (even the elephants are pretty weak, especially the way the AI uses them) but the whole concept has been improved nevertheless, and the different troops don't really differ awfully much. It's sort of possible to defeat better quality troops with weaker units if you use them properly, whereas in the original and older versions most of the time the strongest units win the battle almost single-handedly"An archaeologist is the best husband a women can have; the older she gets, the more interested he is in her." - Agatha Christie
