  • Yeah the old girl can go on and on if you want to hear the whole back story

I just listened/read/responded to 45 minutes worth of dialogue after escaping the first base. Wow.

Oh... anyone else notice a bit of a "start the game with an escape" obsession going on here?

    • I'd love to play this game.

But I'm loathe to give LucasArts anymore of my money after the Sam & Max debacle.

      • Unfortunately, you have to play all the way through the first level (and, to a lesser extent, the second level) each time, which takes a while and isn't much fun the second time.

        • Peragus is the one thing discouraging me from playing another character.

          • it seemed a little tedius. Taris was more fun. People complained about Taris because they couldn't be a jedi. But I found doing stuff like bounties and dueling with bandak starkiller (he's tough) fun.

I was going to take my comments the game was too easy back. Because I did face 2 halfway challenging battles, but then the game got really easy again after those battles. The battles were against mercenaries. I won't spoil the specifics. Although one of those battles was because I was foced to use that computer specialist guy- the one who calls you general. He sucks ass in combat. He doesn't have the dexterity to give him a range weapon, and not enough hitpoints to go the front line. Oh well.

and I finally got a light saber. Though I didn't miss it much. My melee weapons were pretty bad ass. But my doublebladed light saber does more damage. What can I say.

Anyone know anything about hth combat? it actually looked like I did more damage with my hth combat than with my melee weapons! . But the difference may be I can use 2 melee weapons (I always use 2 weapon fighting), and I don't thing you get 2 attacks with hth. Or do you?

I'm a very combat orientated character this time.

I started with str 16, dext 16, and constitution 16. . You can guess what all the other stats were. As I mentioned, nothing stands in my way now. I my strength is now 21, dext 19, const 18.

In any case, I'm having more fun since I got off peragus. I finally got to explore some outdoor areas. Though the exploring is limited. Very linear this game is. It certainly is no morrowind. Sigh. but that's okay. This game is good in a different way. I'm having a lot of fun, trying to figure out what's going to happen in the story.

            • Its like Planescape - story, setting and character more important than freedom.

I thought Pelagus was alright. Some original ways of dealing with the "get this, go there" set up, some kookie characters and the fact that there's dead people everywhere who have left only recordings.

Use him unarmed. He ROCKS unarmed.

                    • To add some more challenge to the game, I've decided to use every character unarmed, and when I get a lightsaber, to only use force powers and unarmed. It's been pretty tough so far.

                      • I forgot to take the screen shot of me with the axe.

The first time I seen an Axe in Kotor (don't remember one in the first game). It's pretty cool looking. Though it has like a -2 to hit. I found my lightsaber does more damage though.

                        back to playing.

I want to play it fast to find out what happens, but I also want to take my time to enjoy the game. Because it won't be as fun the second time around. Though I'll definately play this game as a dark side consular next time. Right now I'm a light side guardian.

I'm still not sure how to use those stances.

And one complaint I have is those offensive/grenadier settings. They appear to reset! One of those battles against the mercenaries was tough because the computer specialist kept charging in. There's one area with several large groups of them. After I defeated one, I want to rest and get my force points back. But he goes charging in. I said screw it, left him dead (unconcious) in the grass, while I retreated to rest up for the other battles. I did them without him. He sucks ass.

                        • Right now I'm using the old woman, and handmaidan (actually I'm forced to use mandalroe right now). handmaiden is pretty bad ass in melee.

And I like the old woman because of the bonus to xp. And the fact she can cast stuff on herself and it affects you. . That is beyond cool. I've been wearing full armour, and having her cast knight speed, force shield, battle meditation, energy resistance, and knight valor.

p.s. it does seem like they improved the human ai a little bit. They seem to use mandalorian melee shields more, and throw grenades more. That's why the mercs were halfway tough. But all the creatures are pathetic.

I went and paid full price because Obsidian rock. And now I'm too sick to play (Damn flu)

I agree. Creatures are teh suck, but I guess that is more realistic.

                              • whew, lot of content in this game. This game may be larger than KOTOR1, people were saying it was shorter. maybe it seems longer because there is more dialogue. That's why it's taking me a while to get through this game. I'm trying to read everything, and do every single quest (light side only of course)

And I have found a little bit of challenge lately. Not my main character mind you- he's still industructable. It's funny, his hitpoints almost never go below maximum. He's completely immune to all damage it seems.

No what I found challenge in, was more parts where you weren't allowed to use your main character. It's kind of annoying, but I do like it because it does have more challenge. So I like and dislike it at the same time. I won't get into details, but there are times when I was forced to use only Atta or whatever his names (I hate him, so I never use him) for a fight. That battle required me to use a few evasive maneuvers. And another sequence where I could only use 2 characters and not my main character. Although that would have been a lot easier, had I not missed the droid sitting right next to the entrance. . I could have disabled many things. But that's okay, I learned alot about hit and run tactics. Oh and another sequence before that when you can only use Mira. Again, hit and run tactics saved the day.
