The Altera Centauri collection has been brought up to date by Darsnan. It comprises every decent scenario he's been able to find anywhere on the web, going back over 20 years.

And besides.. those three pets are "what the people want". They apparently decided what to offer by leting people vote on different choices - and of course, all the Bnet kids voted for diablo and zerglings.
I am on Test22 as a Dwarven Warrior by the name of Lian, lvl19 at the moment. I palyed a bit of EU closed beta before on a friends account, and now looking at the other side (was a Tauren Druid) the game is still awesome. The little things make such a big difference in this game (permanent chat channels, clocks ringing in towns on the hour etc etc). I dare say it's more polished in beta than DAoC is after 3yrs of release. There's slight server issues atm but then I guess that's what open beta is for.
Only worry is what the end game will be like, it might only be a 2-3 months fling rather than the 2.5yrs i spent in DAoC.

Don't really get skills, talents and professions yet.........Ludd what gives?
Skills: The classes basic abilities. You can have them all, it's just a matter of affording the training. (And, in some cases, find the correct trainer or completing the quest)
Talents: You get a talent point every level after 10, and they allow you to customize your character. Most of them just augment your abilities by making skill X do X percent more, or making you dodge more or regenerate hitpoints, ect... there are some that act as a skill, however.
Professions: These are trade skills. Gathering professions like herbalism or mining allow you to collect resources - it can be very profitable. while professions like mining or alchemy allow you to make use of those resources. You can only have two professions.

I am also in the WoW Open Beta and I am also playing in the East Coast RP Server (#35).
Playing all human characters, though.
Having never played in a MMORPG before, this is rather interesting for me. Thusfar, I think the game mechanics are solid, but there's a level of social development seriously missing from the game. I've been assured by others that such things typically develop in MMORPG's after their release. Any commentary on that from any of you who have played MMORPG's before?

As for my characters (all on #35):
Andonir, Human Priest, Level 9 (almost Level 10)
Lorloth, Human Mage, Level 7
Brandir, Human Warrior, Level 7
and a few other characters that I created just to test out classes, races, professions at low level that have since been deleted.

I've never played a MMORPG until last night. So I can't say for sure.
But I bought EQ2 last night.
Pretty cool so far . But as I said, I have nothing to compare it to. We'll see how long I play before I get bored of it. But I don't expect that anytime soon.

What's your complaint?
One thing to consider - in the low levels co-operation isn't usually required and people will just do a solo grind to get through ti quickly.
I've made some friends, and I see alot of good social interaction... on the part of the undead and horde in general, atleast - I can't speak for the alliance . I've also been on a few "elite" quests which require a number of people and team work. Of course, I'm level 17 now and team work and groups are much more neccisary than they where before level 10 or so.
Grouping seems superior for getting fast XP if you're interested in that.
It's candy. Surely there are more important things the NAACP could be boycotting. If the candy were shaped like a burning cross or a black man made of regular chocolate being dragged behind a truck made of white chocolate I could understand the outrage and would share it. - Drosedars
Tonight I got a couple of levels quite fast in a duo. It was more fun also. You need to find someone close to your level and after the same quests though.
