Besides, it's a good thing to do at 3 AM on weekdays when you can't sleep...
I had mine imported from the US, but the quality was not so great.
I am actually quite envious of your project. Post details, please.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

Can't be. Monks don't wear armor.

no, but I'm using I think it was 8-gauge galvanized steel wire, so the links don't open once I close them.

I might use my soldering iron and some solder to do so, but it depends on how lazy I get

Skanks: i'm 11000 KM away from it, you'll have to wait till I get back.

              • It's in the mail. Dylon Whyte's Art of Chainmail site features beautiful, clear renderings showing, step-by-step, how to join chain links to form different mail patterns, including European,...

I find these methods help between medication - if i was allowed near an anvil and forge i would add the rivets to seal the end of each linked ring, as is needed to make mail that would actualy be of use in battle with real weapons

                    • 8 guage might be tough enough with only butted links, but I wouldn't count on it. Of course, for recreation purposes it will do well.

Might even stand up to the abuse of the English metal-on-metal fighters.

                      • Fat chance it'd stop an arrow welded or riveted... the rings are 1/2" in diameter.

My grandmother has some real medieval chainmail, and those are less than half the diameter, AND riveted...

                          • These guys in England are more interested in studying combat techniques than fanciful "reenactment." They're odd, but in a different way. There are some guys on this side of the pond who do full armor combat, but I wasn't impressed.

Dang, can't find my link to the WMAW '05 video, only the picture galleries.

Did anyone else lol when they read that? (not that I am laughing at your grandmother N35t0r, and remember it was joncha that killed your monk ).

It reminded me of a saying when I was a kid (maybe still said today?) "your grandmother wears army boots" (not sure what it meant really, but i think I like "your grandmother wears chain mail" better ).
