I once won a d300 and I loved it. I was very sad when I lost it.

Ahh yes Fighting Fantasy by Steve Jackson. My personal favorites are those books that has something to do with that labyrinth. And one set in Far East with you playing a samurai was terrific.
Personally I find Lone Wolf's game rules and structure more sophiscated and enjoyable but FF are terrific too.

well... this post is probably too late to do anyone any real good but all the rules for DnD (Player's Handbook, DM's, Monster Manual, Unearthed Arcana, and the Epic Level Handbook) are legally available on the internet here:
Contains the entire v3.5 & 5e d20 System Reference Document and is fully indexed, hyperlinked, searchable, and accessible.
(you don't even need to buy the rule books!)

On another subject- self biased- still playing the old version (The Masquerade) or White Wolf's new version (Requiem)? Myself, I'm a mage player - (Ascension... not Awakening)-->Visit CGN!

But you can't live with just a d20. You'll just have to have a couple of d10s, at least one each of the d8s and d4s and scores of d6s and....
And of course the d12- friend of barbarians everywhere!-->Visit CGN!

Lone Wolf is a set of solo adventure books, published by Steve Jackson Games IIRC.
Nothing beats a paper and pencil RPG session, though.(\__/) 07/07/1937 - Never forget

Of course it doesn't exist in the physical realm, but that doesn't mean that there aren't legal situations in DnD when they ask you to roll a d3... I believe a small knife in the hands of a halfling does d3 damage (!)
Therefore, the d3, at the very least, exists conceptually.

The opportunities for inter-character interactions were amazing, and everyone was well behaved.
Basically, the LARP (Live action role playing) combined everything I love about acting with everything I loved about pen and paper Dungeons and Dragons.
Now though, as a word of warning and a caution- there are definitely some very dull LARP groups, and there are jackass LARP groups that actually hit people with swords, etc. or have people in them who don't really understand the difference between acting and reality.
For that reason, I personally have decided only to participate in LARPS at conventions like Origins or GenCon... much easier to get away from strange people playing in the meeting rooms of a hotel rather than in a field far away... or someone's basement.Last edited by DarkCloud; July 14, 2006, 22:40.-->Visit CGN!
