I don't expect Oblivion to be out before 2006, so the processing power will be more than enough to handle the AI of 1000 NPCs. However, you'll need a solid graphic card to play it. TES games have always been extremely demanding on hardware by the time they were out. I'm sure Oblivion won't be different
