Fifa 97? Something along those lines anyway. Could be any number of sports games.

Actually, I've changed my mind - partway through a confrontation has to be a series of games, therefore American Sports more than likely. Plus a joystick. Hmm... NHL 96?

Hmm... a sports game, then... but that first clue still has me baffled...
I make movies. Come check 'em out.

2a Arsenal won the game in question 2-1, and I had all three scorers correct as I played it on my Amiga at half-time.

There you are, that gives you the sport, the format and the year.

You played your Amiga at half-time? You sad, sad loser.

When did Arsenal win the FA Cup in the Amiga period? gotta be 91-92 or thereabouts surely, when they were quite dominant. I've got a copy of Fever Pitch lying about somewhere...

Well, it can't be SWOS as we've already had that one. What's that other Amiga football game called?

              It wasn't a great game!

Buck is very close to guessing it, but I have told DrSpike the answer if anyone gets it while I'm away. Good luck.

Yes, annoyingly, since I would probably have got this.

More guesses allowed, but I'll leave Duke to do clues.

But I guess it's a football game, because of CoT's guess...
I'll guess Goal, since that's the only football game I know...

Clue #1: One of the Commodore 64's killer apps, strangely enough as it also appeared on (and I quote) "PC Booter, Apple II, NES, Atari 2600, Atari ST, Atari 7800, Amiga, Intellivision, ZX Spectrum". I guess the versions were different enough to merit it being a C64 classic only.

Hmm... many different versions across many different machines. They all had Flight Simulator, didn't they?
We're sorry, the voices in my head are not available at this time. Please try back again soon.
