  • Name the Game - Part 8

    Game rules:
    - If you guess a game correctly you provide the next game.
    - Please check the list below before doing so.
    - Games are not allowed to be newer than 1997, but anything before that is allowed.
    - Usually a good clue is to write information about which computer you played it on. Also the time period and genre can be narrowed down.
    - Use vague clues at first and if nobody can guess, write progressively more useful clues later.
    - Shotgunning is not allowed. 1 guess is your limit until you are told it is incorrect.
    - The answer is not Grim Fandango, except when it is.
    - Googling invalidates your guess, and should be declared if used as a last resort in a difficult game.

This game could be much more fun if I had been a bit older, or got a computer a bit earlier... I have guessed the right game once when I have checked in, but then the right answer was taken...

Well we have extended the period to include some more recent games, but yes, this is predominantly aimed at those with a long history of gaming. It's more challenging to dig up memories of games that you haven't thought about for 10 or even 20 years (well for the old fogies like CoT anyway).

I'm glad for the cut-off point, because I was pretty terrible in my teenage years - spending every night playing on my Amiga and going to bed at midnight each night, but then I stopped playing when I went to university and have only recently started playing again. I know very little about more recent games too. I'm still trying to catch up on those I missed out on.

yep us old codgers get a small thrill when we actually remember the name of a game from our youth! or the name of our first girlfriend.............[gazes of into the distance all misty eyed]
not that i've got that one yet - still i got a good 30 years left in me to figure it out

Ludd's pic in "Name the Image" is from Uplink, of course. I wonder if that was a joke or something, though, too easy.

With a twist? Super Cars is probably too easy (and I believe we already had that one), but I'll guess that anyway... even though I believe there's more to the "twist" than armed cars
This space is empty... or is it?
