that's what I've been saying all long (in my early posts in this thread)

sometimes I'll keep plasma rifles as base defense weapons for my weaklings. I always have excess soldiers around that can't fit in the skyranger/avenger. If my base is attacked the weaklings will usually take the plasma rifles, and I'll give the heavy plasma to my good guys (who usually have a decent strength and movement)

This analysis assumes a two-workshop build with the maximum number of engineers employed.

Elerium is too valuable to waste converting it into money, so any items that use it have been excluded.
Items using AAs have been grouped together due to the additional need to micromanage supplies while keeping manufacturing going. The items have been reordered in terms of profit per month.

It seems I will be going back to manufacturing medikits while beginning research into laser weaponry. For profit.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

I don't need or use cheat codes normally.

But since I don't have a paper manual handy, I'm using the money cheat to learn how to do all the things you guys already know how to do.

Once that is figured out, I'll play without it.

              ACK!
sorry Tuberski! I really hate it when that happens, even when an honest typo - and i think your right to play around with the cheat untill you get the hang of it(in your situation). It can be a very unforgiving game for sure

Good luck with it and i'm glad once you've learned the ropes you will ditch the cheat for cash thing.

If you need money badly simply keep building a few medpacks(i think they had the best build cost to sell cost ratio? ) to sell on the open market.

                • I started playing TFTD again last night. It's so hard on superhuman difficulty. Half a dozen aliens on the smallest ship, and AI smart enough to throw grenades ect. Nevermind those buggers that hide in small crevices and corners and shoot you in the back as you walk past them.

I started two games and wiped out on my first missions each time.

                  • I found TFTD way, way too hard on Beginner. Let alone Superhuman. Passenger ships were a massive pain in the neck, with lots of levels, gangways, tunnels and openings for an alien to snipe one of my team members.

Not worth researching now for the slightly higher net, as opposed to going after the laser tech tree. Were I starting again, however, valid point.

                        • The two-parter missions in TFTD were a real killer. In a cargo ship I usually had only about four operatives alive or standing by the time I had cleared up the upper portion of the ship.

                          • I just hated the bug where aliens captured in the first half of those missions disappeared, as did all the capturable items in that map. This killed the tech tree as certain alien types were not capturable - only ever appearing in the first half of maps.

Not that I hold a grudge against the game for wasting my time. Not at all.

                            • Bump.

                              Finish this equation:

Floater soldier carrying Alien grenade inside central elevator shaft of Battleship...

                              +

Another Floater soldier carrying another Alien grenade inside central elevator shaft of Battleship one level up from previous Floater soldier...

                              +

Yet another Floater soldier carrying yet another Alien grenade inside central elevator shaft of Battleship also one level up from first Floater soldier...

                              +

A bunch of Floaters and Reapers in the immediate area inside Battleship who haven't even gotten outside yet...

                              +

One well-aimed Heavy Plasma shot as first Floater soldier tries to exit central elevator shaft of Battleship...

                              = ?

                              Give up?

A very short, but entertaining mission.

                              • I wish I had luck like that. When I land at a battleship, I almost always raid the ship because I can't be bothered to sit and wait at the elevator for god knows how many turns, even if it would be shooting fish in a barrel.
