  • The Peninsula is now done, and I've moved on to the Blacklake district. I went into the Hodge estate to gte the first of the artworks and had some pretty incredible fights.
There are loads of traps about, and although my character can spot almost all of them, neither she nor Daelan can removed them so I just have to stand on them. Occasionally I haven't been careful enough when he's following me, and he's set them off, but I still get hit! I've used so many potions that the powergamers would be ashamed of me.
In one room there were tonnes of guards, and some evil buggers with bows, but I eventually won by retreating into the store-room next door, letting a few in and then closing the door behind them, massacring them and letting a couple more in each time. This is disgraceful and cheaty, but damned effective!

I usually wait till last to do that area. If you are really hurtin' go to the graveyard area next- the area with the zombies.

Any way you could improve on them?

Although I must say, that Undead Lord build is mighty tempting. Might as well test it out on Folderol. Just need a good name. How does making the character female and naming her "Ereshkigal" (Babylonian goddess of the underworld) sound?

              • I had a peek at a few of them and was very impressed/scared. /

The whirling death character is perhaps my favourite, but they all look fun - even the gnome.

                • I like the uber-onesided Damage Adept. He'd be useless vs any kind of non-evil/immune to critical opponents though.

Almost all of these builds can be improved by minimising CON to improve other skills. HPs are worthless. If you CAN get hurt, you WILL eventually lose all your HP, no matter how many you have. Damage Resistance, Armour Class, Concealment and Regeneration are all superior, while nothing beats "letting the other guys get whacked while you assist from behind."

BTW, I need a NWN fix so badly

                      • For more laughs, a WOTC thread discussing the Hulking Hurler prestige class in 3e. Basically, a Hulking Hurler can throw any medium (for him) load, so these people try to max out the load he can throw. Also, a Hulking Hurler can choose to ignore one limitation. This is the obvious conclusion:

Well, I mean, if you're Colossal, and the Hulking Hurler gets to 'pick and choose' the limitation he wants, he can pick weight as the limitation to ignore. He can then Throw the Universe (treating the universe as an improvised weapon for a -4 to hit penalty, if my memory holds up). Since he is Colossal, and there are no more size categories above him, it's perfectly within his limits in terms of size.

If that's the case, congratulations. Infinite mass = infinite d6 + Str modifier damage, for an average damage of infinity.

And the humourous thing is, a frenzied berserker would still be standing
And from there the thread becomes a discussion of what it would take for a properly maxed HH to destroy a planet.

Jamski does those online as well, in a manner of speaking.
