  • Well, Jamski's not-so-innocent smile answers my question of where that blatant exploit comes from.

Any idea when and if it's going to get pulled out?

    • After Jamski has 17 level 40 characters.

Hey Jamski if I start a character on Folderol this week can you hook me up with a few nice items over the weekend? Ring of insane smiting, +50 strength, that kind of thing.

      • I left Blacklake on the advice of Diss mainly, and proceeded to the Beggar's Nest. This is almost done. Well, when I say almost, I mean that I've just cleared the warehouse and the clan HQ, but now have to go and fight in the vaults, which presumably leads to the graveyard. I don't think that I'll be able to finish it this week, but if I keep my fingers crossed and my girlfriend sweet on Wednesday evening then I may get another shot at it.

        • I started Folderol tonight; the module looks fun but it's lonely after City of Heroes.........no one else came on in the 90 minutes or so that I played.

Btw I have a question. I thought I'd try the Kukri master build from the official site, but the guy that sells weapons at the start doesn't have one. Is it worth pursuing this build, or should I reroll? I've already taken Kukri and Exotic feats.

          • Stay with it - you can get some good kukris from other shops and from some encounters. The starting shop has a rather limited stock - for the normal CRPG reasons, y'know

            • Well my badminton club was on holiday last night (not that they told me last week - mutter mutter ) so I got to play a little more NWN. And things did not go well. I met a poisonous dire spider, and couldn't defeat it with just brute force, so I need some help. Should I just go back to the temple of Helm and stock up on lots of antidote before fighting it normally, or is there a better way to take it on?
I also couldn't understand why, in the fight with Drawl, my longsword was ineffective. I only got his weapon from his remains, so it's not as though he had super armour on. I'm not too bothered though, because I just stood back and allowed Daelan to bash the heck out of him while I stood by and applied healing as required.

Ok, but I am tempted to join a populated server instead.

                • You absolutely have to change the name of your character to Kukri Monster as soon as you can get your hands on some. You are allowed to change the name of characters aren't you Jam?

IIRC, Drawl has stoneskin active when you come across him. I think Daelan may have gotten the stoneskin effect to collapse.
oh god how did this get here I am not good with livejournal

                    • I don't remember Drawl. If it's the gang leader I don't think I killed him, since I did the yuan ti bit first.

If the spider is that one in the graveyard dungeon he is a pain. Buff up and buff Daelan up and send him in first. Antidotes wont help as much as barskin, bless etc.

                      • That's what I'm planning to do. I may well take an antidote or two along anyway so that I can heal him afterwards. The duchess is going out this evening and my five-a-side football has been cancelled so I can play through the rest of the vaults (I hope).
I wanted to find a door to hide behind, but that could be quite tough to do if I remember the layout of the dungeon correctly so I may well just have to wait and try out brute force again. I always like to move my character behind tough enemies while Daelan takes the brunt of their attack.

                        • I recently played a Paladin when going up against Drawl (since getting HotU, at least)....

                          WOW!

Do you have any idea how fast Drawl goes down when you fight him with a Paladin using the "bless weapon" spell?

Considering that Drawl normally kicks my lousy butt when I face him at roughtly level 4 or 5 (at most), playing a Paladin and kicking his sorry butt while making it look easy was a really really cool.

                          • You could have said that on Tuesday!

Any handy hints as to where I can get my hands on a magic longsword at this level of the game would be much appreciated.

                            • Stop being a girl and go and kick his ass with what you have now.

There is some cool loot around the graveyard dungeon bit that might help as well.

                              • I'm afraid that I couldn't tell whether it was a he or a she as it bit off Daelan's head, but I'll try to have a better look next time.
Is there any point to lugging one of those fire beetles' bodies around everywhere? Are they good for anything?
Cool loot sounds good to me though.
