Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
Rogues are great versatile characters. The use magic items skill allows them to use restricted items. This includes weapons and armor as well. My rogue can wield those longbows restricted to arcane archers. With enough scrolls and wands, she can the spells of any wizard or cleric. Potions can boost her up to a power fighter. And, as stated before, if she's in a tough place, she can stick to the shadows.

And high-level Sneak Attack produces insane results. +20d6, for example - who wouldn't want that on all hits? And all those ranks in Tumble + uberhigh DEX push up the AC to something rather tasty. The trick to making the uberrogue is to either chuck in 4 levels of fighter (for 4 attacks/round at level 20 and weapon specialisation) or chuck in 7 levels of wizard (for buffing spells, and the incredable Improved Invisiblity)
Or cheeze it to hell with Shadowdancer levels

Or both!
Actually I think best is Rogue/Wizard/WM, which can also give you those attacks. If you go heavier wizard you can get level 9 spells, good AC, nice sneak, and WM juiciness (I like WM )
I've done the first major quest to the north of Port Llast (the goblin caves), and am heading southwards to have a poke around the wizard's tower. I broke into the wizard's cottage and had a root around in the basement, but the chest right at the bottom is too heavily trapped for me to take the hit, or for my henchman to disable it. I have levelled up since I first tried, and so although I haven't got enough HP (it does 100+ damage), maybe Tomi has increased his chance of disabling the trap. Does anyone have any idea of how hard this chest is to open? Can I use a knock spell and stand at the other end of the room?
Also, Jamski: what is the voice command to get the henchman to switch between missile and melee weapons? That would be really useful, because missile sneak attacks are brilliant, but once the enemies get too close then you really need the henchman to change weapons.
I think I posted a good build earlier in this thread

Sadly there isn't one

There are some errors in the build-- for example, you need power attack, cleave, and great cleave to get Overwhelming and Devastating Criticals, plus your choice of weapons is rather limited. I tried my hand at correcting them a few posts later (with potential room for dual-wield, as well). Note that the Martial Proficiency isn't really needed; I took it just because.
I remember there being a Henchman AI script on the vault that could be implemented into the OC. It's also not too difficult to script yourself. Just add some listen commands. However, you'd have to do something with your save game to use it without restarting (I don't know how to do this).

It's not worth tinkering with my save game to be honest, although I would like to install a hack pack to have this automatically as it would be most useful.
(and far more realistic, although I know this is a very dangerous word to use on Civ forums )
Right, I am bored of waiting for others to decide on how to build a 'poly hero(ine), and have come up with the following, but I still need some help, because obviously I haven't got the game in front of me.
Lvl 1 Human rogue
STR 10
CON 9
DEX 16 (Mmm ambidextrous fighting )
INT 16
WIS 10
CHA 14 (Sweet talking with Persuade )
Unfortunately I can't remember whether I've got another point to spend or not. If there is one left then it obviously can't go onto DEX or INT, and I'll probably just dump it on CON to round things up, but can someone help me with this please!
charisma is a waste . If you are using melee weaons I would put it into strength and consitution. but that's just me. I don't like to be a weakling if I'm going toe to toe with creatures.
this character would be better specializing in missile weapons of some sort.
That's a reasonable start for a rogue/wizard. You could use a rapier and maybe finesse if you are adding more to dex. I'd drop charisma, and int unless you are planning wizard levels.
