  • Of course Snowfire is another great detective, so he'll know what to do.

Sadly, unlike L-L, I haven't determined the answer on the basis of two sets of clues (although L-L claimed he had it on ONE set). So, uh, onto wild intuition. I think our two security guards are innocent, at least of this crime. Would they resort to something as unmanly as pencils? Do they even know what one is?

It is definitely the kind of way a secretary might kill, though. But even more so it's the way a statisitcal analyst might kill- so perhaps DarkCloud?

(Sorry Kalius. Herc complimented my Detective skills, and I had already slowed down the game already, and going to a coin flip would have slowed it down further. Besides, as pointed out, nobody likes the CFO.)

(Oh, and as for the delay, got back home late last night- went down Thursday night and had an interview in NYC. Let's hope I actually get said job.)

Though I must say: L-L, as SnowFire used it has a certain ring to it.

In fact, L2 is even pretty cool.

            • Chapter Three

By a tight but finally decisive vote, Kalius was taken to the upper levels and thrown down to his death. Kalius refused to say a word to anyone after the result was announced, and so the bulldozer-proof front doors of the Apolyton building remained closed.

"I'm starting to wonder if this system of ours is going to be of any use at all. What will happen when the doors open? We could've murdered perfectly innocent men", Nuclear Master pondered to his colleague over yet another cup of coffee. "The mere thought makes me feel sorry we don't have any booze here to get hammered."

Vovan nodded, but said: "If we are all murdered, we won't have a chance to worry about that."

"And we can always tell the police they were suicides", Zopperoni said. "That'd be a bit underhanded, though."

"That might work. There was that girl a year or two ago. Remember her? She worked here, I think", gjramsey said. "Jumped down from the roof. That's why it is sealed nowadays."

Nuclear Master was about to ask what the girl's job was when his face turned completely red. He grabbed his throat just like Smiley had done, and collapsed on the floor.

"Poisoned? Again?" Jon Miller said and stared at the prone body.

"The only thing he's been having here was..." Vovan swallowed. "The coffee. But he made it for us! Who could've done it? Why was only he affected?"

"Maybe it's a ghost. A spectre. Of that girl", Jon Miller thought out loud.

                  • I must say, Hercules. I mean, I can't gather any clues from the story of poisoning other than it was done through coffee. And you know, coffee, secretary; secretary, coffee. Makes sense to me, though seems almost too simple to be true.

PS: LL, sorry, I figure I may have sounded a bit harsh in that previous post. Not trying to pick on ya or anything.

Due to the increase in foodstuff and beverage-related premature contract terminations, it is highly advised that all recipients of this memo refrain from any further consumption of food or drink while on the premises.

                          • Clues in this new murder:

Again, a color is featured--this time red. Perhaps a signal that the prior references to green were nothing more than coincidence? Or an indication of unprofitable activities? Or, a long shot perhaps, but again an avatar clue (Skanky Burns)?

Talk of an old suicide (homicide?), a woman who threw herself from the roof. Perhaps another subtle hint towards a secretary, or a nurse, stereotypical occupations of the fairer sex?

I suspect Hercules is likely being set up; killing Nuclear Master would be too foolish a maneuver if he were really the killer. I suspect my assistant, Tuberski.

                            • Uh... one problem with the "Herc did it" theory.

"The only thing he's been having here was..." Vovan swallowed. "The coffee. But he made it for us! Who could've done it? Why was only he affected?"

Seems like Nuclear Master made his own coffee instead of letting the secretary make it. Not to mention that everybody drinking from the pot didn't all keel over. Meaning one of
                              A) The coffee is a total red herring, the poisoning is from another source.
                              B) The pot used had some subtance that reacted with NM specifically. Can Guynmeyer check NM's medical file next round?
                              C) It was one of those "two-part" poisons where two normally harmless chemicals combine to kill you. So maybe caffeine + zurblechot(???) = death, and we need to find who's handing out the (???).
                              D) Someone with magical powers poisoned only NM's cup. Was it the spirit of the dead girl? Or maybe President Kassiopeia, who performed arcane rituals before killing himself so that he might haunt his corporation to take revenge on his employees for returning profits 12% lower than projected?

                              Hmm. A true mystery.

Edit: I now see Guynmeyer's post. Hmm, makes sense to me; a nurse might be an amatuer chemist in his spare time. Tuberski it is.

                              • Checking the company database of workers and occupations, I will have to blame the company doctor, Guynmeyer. Who else would have access to the vials necessary to poison others with?

Running down the list, assuming no one smuggled in their own secret batch of cyanide: The Security Guards might have access to the poison and Vovan might have had a grudge against poor Nuclear Master, and Tuberski the nurse could have stolen the pills from Guynemeyer's cabinet of course, but Guynemeyer is in the best position to use the poison.

Either that, of course, or the person supplying the coffee cups is the one who puts the poison in them... Thus the poison is not in the coffee after all, but in the cups themselves.
