  • I thought it was 6.0?

One thing i notice is with 6.0 on my system, when i get a game crash - MS Visual C++ 6.0 often springs into debug mode all by itself. I just dont know enough about it to actualy attempt to fix the suspected bug.
When i'm brave enough to download the source code, any advice for bug fixing? I've used the pull down menu to select 'run debug' but it doesn't appear to fix or run anything?
I'm waiting untill i upgrade my p166 - the thought of debugging on this machine doesnt fill with confidence

But i always was a bad speller at school - so i wasn't making fun

your typo on coking in schools was just too funny to not pass comment on
I was thinking of making a comment myself, but I decided to be

And please - could you both promise never to debate(between the two of you) life or death subjects online(just in case you ever do), that way nothing unfortunate will happen
Which two of us do you mean

For CTP2: IIRC version 6 and Martin made it working under 7.

      • Well then CoT, leave the code alone till you upgrade your archaic machine. Debugging a big application in Visual Studio on that machine.... heck it would take you two hours to compile the game.

        • two hours....thats not so bad - i used to have to wait 2 days for my amiga to render some of the things i used to do

Still i think its more likely i would just hurt my poor pc trying heavy duty stuff, at the momment its happy running old games and i dont want to upset it

A few more months and i'll be over the 10,000mhz mark for the first time(unless i can find something slower?)

          • I know I get annoyed whenever Visual C doesn't want to build CtP2 incrementally, even though even a full, debug build from scratch is relatively fast here.

CTP2 was built under VC 6, even if a peexplorer claims that the playtest I built are built by VC 5. CTP1 was built under VC 5.

You shouldn't press this retry/repeat buttonn or however it is called in the English version, that starts the debugger, if you get an Assert just press continue, given it wasn't a fatal error.

Not yet and it is still in question if at all, but we already had successfull attempts, the only question is if these efforts done there are really needed.

Actually one 'problem' I see with all our wishes, as a lot of people want to have them optional it will be a heck to implement. As some of them will interact with others and to enable/disable certain parts only.........ouch.......

And the MP PW bug, that is just normal burocracy in it's best form

                              • Yea we have different wishes. Right now we seem to be concentrating on making it look good on top, when it isnt all working right underneath. But as has been said, you cant tell people to do something, and expect them to enjoy doing it for free
