  • In Windows XP there's some kind of Windows 95+ compatibility mode. It may not be turned on yet. (I'm not a XP guy, myself, sorry it's so general.)
I'm not conceited, conceit is a fault and I have no faults...

Civ and WoW are my crack... just one... more... turn...

    • Yes...I've found that now, and can play a SP game. But I cannot play PBEM turns. What might I be missing in the setup?

      Thanks

      • Not sure there... will the turns just not open? Or how do you try to open them?

        • Thanks for the help. I've been able to get CTP working, under Compatability Mode settings, but cannot get the CSG files to run properly. When I double click on them it just starts the game normally. I know you are supposed to run a regular game of CTP under version 1.2 to allow the game to Rewrite the Registry, but even after doing so, no luck. I have the 1.21 patch installed.

Help! I need to continue getting my butt kicked!!!

            • Be sure, that the csg-extention is "tied" with the ctp.exe file in the folder c:\Program Files\Activision\Civilization-Call To Power\ctp_program\ctp folder and NOT to the playctp.exe in the c:\Program Files\Activision\Civilization-Call To Power folder.

I have had the problem myself!

              • If all else fails, you can copy the PBEM turns into the saved game folder and open the game with compatibility mode and load them like normal SP turns, but try TheBirdMan's suggestion first.

                      • Reg search for .csg will show what and where.

                        • ...or you can open explorer, go Tools->Options, File Types, find CSG, then click advanced, select the Open action and click Edit. But that's rather more roundabout than searching the registry...
