            • Lots of debate and other stuff.

Did you get to 600 only by posting in AC-Fiction? I gotta give you major props if you did.

              • Custom avatars rock!

But the one kicker is that the maximum size is 80x80.

Go to Apolyton's control panel, then Edit Options. Scroll down to Avatar and click "Change Avatar". From there, you can upload the new pic via URL or upload the new pic from your computer.

I think the new image can be 65x65....if not than it's 64x64 (that's what I use).

If you have a pic in mind, but need resizing, I can do it when I get home.

                  Congrats man!

                  • 80x80?! Are you serious????

I've been using 64 this whole time! OR is that for ApolytonPLUS users only?

I'll let u guys know by tonight if it works.

I think I've made maybe 500 - 530 posts just in AC fiction, while the rest were in the MOO forums, and a dozen or so posts in the Civ3 boards.

                          • Guys, not to cause any more trouble with Lonestar, but I finally pinpointed when he posted about the Stargates.

                            Here's his post, dated 28-09-2002.....

There was a crack in the darkness, then the shadows receded fully. Dr. Matthew Bucher, a man older than most Biblical figures strode into the huge room. He turned on a lamp he was carrying.

"Let there be light," he murmered.

The room was now completely lit, and Bucher looked around. Huge statues of Egyptian Gods were abound. Egyltian Hieroglyphs completely covered the walls. After 600 years of trying to break into this Temple, he now knew it was worth it.

A voice shouted down from behind the door he'd finally opened.

"Professor Bucher, do you see anything?"

                            "Oh yes....wonderful things!"
                            ---------------

                            The Palace, Nuevo San Antonio.

Lord Protector Ian looked up from the flimsy and gave the yound grad student an odd look.

"You want to run me by that again, Mister...."

"O'Neill, M'lord." The Twentysomething college student stood stiffly, clearly terrified at speaking to one of the most powerful Humans in the Galaxy. He swallowed and spoke.

"As you know, M'Lord, there is and old...Temple of some sort in the Black Sand Mountains here on beta Hydri 4. Far in the North...it consists of Stones arranged not unlike that of Stonehenge on Earth and a large Ring-shape portal in the center."

                            "The Stargate." Ian clarified.

"Yes M'Lord. There is also a advance computer there....that we've never been able to use. It's a coordinate locator. We never had the coordinates for other planets in this language. Now we do."

Ian stared at the young person.

"You sure, Mr. O'Neill? Is Dr. Bucher sure?"

                            "Yes Sir."

"Could these...Bulkmatter transmitters be on other planets in the Local area?"

"Yes...In fact, Professor Bucher believes that at least one is located in UCS space."

"Damnit!" Ian stood and walked toward the window. "Thank you O'Neill, that is all."

Ian waited until the Young Grad student walked out before turning to Dr. Pym.

                            "Well?"

"If there is a Stargate within Zahkarov's territory, then he most certainly has a knowledge of what it does, if not actually knowing how it works. We should beef up security around the Stargate here on BH4."

Ian nodded, and without a word one of his Gaurdsmen moved to make the appropriate call.

                            Pym spoke quietly.

"Have we recovered our expidition that the UCS captured yet?"

"No. Baron Fel assures me that he will soon, though."

"If the UCS gets their hands on Hferhin technology, they won't be our only problem."

A Nod. "I've already informed the Dosi Ambassador. A Dosi Starcrusier is on it's way."
His next post regarding the Stargates is dated 01-03-2003 22:39

"...so, Dr. Bucher and his team think the Stargate on Roving is our best chance for the program. The one here on BH4 is cracked and cannot safely maintain a wormhole."

Ian nodded and took a sip of his orange juice. It was 0730 local, and he was recieving his morning brief. The Director of Intelligence, Mr. Onate, spoke up.

"Uh, our scientists believe most of the nearby wormhole outlets lead rimward, although there are a few in the general direction of where we believe the UCS is located."

"Well, we can always send probes through first." Ian looked back at Dr. Pym. "No chance at duplicating the tech?"

"Nope. Far beyond even us. Hell, the Dosi say they have no idea behind the engineering principles. " Ian sighed and nodded. He must have asked the question a million times over the past few hundred years, and the answer was always the same.

Onate spoke again. "You'll be interested to know the United States had a Stargate in the early 21th century."

                            THAT got Ian's attention. "What?"

Onate continued."Yes sir. It was in one of the "safe" files in the Endeavor's computer system. We've only recently found it in the National Archives."

"Huh." Ian looked at Pym. "There an outlet on Earth?" Pym shrugged.

"Alright Gentlemen, that'll be that for this morning. Minister Kolasklar should be here shortly to brieg me on the Bree situation..."

Then, my very first post regarding stargates is dated 30-10-2003 12:56.

Apparently, when the University took over the Area 51 complex, Sean Donnell discovered hundreds of relics, technological treasures, a couple of functioning Stargates, some engimatic Fraal glyphs and tomes, and dozens upon dozens of other treasures.

The Holy Grail was discovered in 1962, in a highly secret and classified expedition to the Crescent Moon Gorge. The expedition followed the journal of Indiana Jones the renowned archaelogist. Both the journal and the Holy Grail were sequestered away in Area 51. The Ark of the Convent was sequestered as well, but at an earlier date, moved from a secret warehouse where the Ark was originally stored upon its retrieval by Indiana Jones in the 1930's.

So you can see, Lonestar opened up the Stargate plot almost 1 year before I even made any reference to the Stargates.

Hence, my decision to close up this hanging thread with the elimination of the Goa'uld, creating the backstory, etc.

I was looking through some old BAC posts to pick up any loose storylines I might have forgot when I came across Lonestar's posts. I felt I had to air these out, to put an end to Lonestar's arguements once and for all.

That sticky issue aside, I'm working on my next post, detailing the end of Goa'uld Civilization, and reply to Pym's overtures, as well as the beginnings of the blitzkrieg aganist the Gaians and the Cyborgs.

Expect it up in a bit.

                            • Dang. Seems like I need way more time than I thought.

In my upcoming post, I'm going to go in detail about the Titans, the reason they were constructed, etc.

I'm about done with the Titan description, and I haven't started with the Goa'uld battle, and the response to Pym. Arrrgh! Its looking more like tomorrow or Friday for post completion.
