  • Heck yeah!

Hmmmm, AFAIK the 3 corvettes were still headed toward the fleet. Another 3 ships intercepted the Drone spy ship, those that aren't part of the fleet.

So, the 3 hive ships that destroyed the Drone probeship are gone, but the 3 Corvettes are headed toward the fleet. We could have the Drone fleet obliterate Hive ships (but they send a signal saying that Drones are attacking), Drone fleet enters into Hive space where they encounter the fleet which is commencing in orbital bombardments.

There, the Hive ships take on the industrial powerhouse ships of the Drone armada. I'm thinking Drone ships are more rugged than other ships and can take more of a pounding. Industrial know-how and well crafted ships maybe.

So, numerically speaking, Hive would be superior, but would be cancelled out by superb Drone construction. Is that kinda close?

(I'm planning on having the Hive losing the battle. But either side will probably have a Pyrrhic victory)

    • Franky, sounds like a plan.

It's up to you whatever happens to the Gaians inside your territory on that special moon. Either wipe them out, or keep them as slaves, its up to ya.

I'll post about the UA invasion after I finish the Goa'uld conquest story arc.

      I'll keep you guys updated.

      • Franky Originally, I was planning to have Franco lose outright. But perhaps if he limps back to the Drone Republic with only two or three of his forty ships, I could have it trigger public disillusionment with Adams. That in turn could set it up for her to lose the electoral cycle and have the Socialists come back in.

What would you like to have the altercation lead to - a full-scale war, or more of a low-intensity border skirmish thing?

From the Drone side, it would be easy for the Socialists to justify either. If we want to have a full-scale war, I'll make them say that Adams didn't use enough force against the Hive. If we don't, they can advocate a guerrilla campaign against the Hiverian Fringe under the idea of "making them fight on our terms".

        • Soveriegn, et al.

One thing I'm sure we've all agreed on is that Bad Things(tm) are going to happen in the Human Sector soon, whether it be a Proginator Invasion or the first of "real" wars between Human Nations.

Soveriegn, I would like to propose that Pym and Zakharov sign that treaty, in person, on Earth. It will have a lot of flowery language about peace for all mankind and will, at least for the immediate future, have tensions between the UA and the Protectorate eased dramatically (although I hope it's obviously heading in that direction anyway).

Citizens of the UA and Protectorate will cheer.

Other nations, like the Drones, Morgan Intersteller, etc. will be pleased that there is no general war between the two powers. Some, like the GHE, will instantly make the "Soviet-German Nonaggression" treaty connection, and be very, very upset. The GHE obviously was banking on the UA to help offset the Protectorate's clear technological superiority, and now that has been screwed up. And oh by the way, the Drones and Protectorate are on Friendly, if not buddy-buddy, terms.

          Well?

          • Great Idea's guys.

Sovereign-Cool. You can wipe out the Gaians on your end, and I'll take care of them on my end. I think we just have to work together so our two stories about them match.

Crimson-Sorry if I turned your plotline around. I just read about how you wanted Adams to lose and thought that if Franco came back from the battle, it would make things a little easier for you to work with. As for your idea's, I think it would be better if we started out with border skirmishes and punitive expeditions between us. Seeing as how it looks like we BOTH have packed schedules and limited time, I think minor skirmishes would work better.

Later on, when we have more time, I think a full-scale war would be good. I like how you plan on having a "guerilla campaign" on our borders. I think we should work on this and expand it....sounds like it has potential.

Lonestar-How the heck do you know what I'm thinking? I did indeed plan on having the UA offset the Protectorates technological advantage. Fudge, well....things seem to be slowly working themselves up between our two factions again. But I think we should just keep things the way they are now while the UA and Protectorate clear things up.

            • Okay, here's several final thoughts before I start posting.

              Lonestar

Sounds like a plan. Good WW2 analogy there. Just to let you know, the Academician already responded to the Protectorate's overtures, with the return of the wreckage of the Michael and the bodies inside, and the opening of an embassy on Earth for the Protectorate.

In your next post, you could have the Protectorate's reply. In it, you could make that offer about the signing of the treaty on Earth.

              Franky

              10-4, buddy.

When I post about the invasion of the Gaians, you could go over it, and let me know what things should be blended and matched, etc.

Then we could work from there. How does that sound?

I'll try and finish up the Goa'uld and Stargate story once and for all this week. Then hopefully I can start the conquest of the Gaians and Cyborgs next week.

By the way, Saturday's my Birthday. I'm starting to feel old already.

                • Right on.

Well, I don't think we should just wipe out the Gaians really quick, but have a few small battles. I'm figuring that they wouldn't have much of a military and would concentrate on environmental research....only have a token force.

This way, we don't get rid of them unrealistically fast, but fast enough where we can be done with them and move on to other plotlines.

                  • Thank for your advice, Franky.

I might go after the Gaians first, then next post, the Cyborgs, then the next post Gaians, in an alternating pattern.

That could give us a quick, yet realistic pace.

                    • Hmmm, going over the story I think I'm going to have to make a repair job for the Hive attack on the Drone ships.

I'll make them as Hive corvettes that intercepted the message also and under orders to destroy any threat. That will explain the three ships already engaged with Hive forces. The 3 corvettes will still be inside of Hive space, but will engage once they see what's happening....but they'll send an emergency message to the fleet to tell them what's happening.

that will make it a total of 6 Hive ships engaging the Drone flotilla (I hope you'll make them have a lot of ships). These 6 ships will be destroyed by the Drones, then the two fleets will slug it out between us. Is this ok?

What I'll do is make the 3 Hive Corvettes jump in at the end of the post, while having the 3 other Hive ships resume the attack as well as send a communication to the Drones.

If you have any problems with my post, I'll change it accordingly. Dang, things are really heating up here.....

                      • Cool!

Franky - That all sounds good! My next post (you can go first if you like) will involve Franco entering Hive space proper and stumbling on the conquest of the pre-spaceflight planet.

For the guerrilla campaign, I was thinking the Drone forces would probably be based at the existing space stations in the regions, or possibly make a couple of smaller forward bases in isolated star systems outside the GHE. From there, they'll try to attack GHE shipping in the border regions, or possibly infiltrate nearby Hive systems.

                        • Cool.

If possible, can you make it so that Drone ships have to scan the planets before they can find the cities?

Hmmm, it looks like the Hive-Drone fleets will meet at the planet discussed in my previous posts. That will be pretty interesting. I'll make it so that the fleet will just have organized itself in defense when the two opposing forces meet.

As for shipping raids-That's fine with me. I just ask that you make it a little hard to find them (Hive secrecy) but they'll be easy to capture/destroy (secrecy over weaponry).
