      Dammit, guys.

A week, and not even a peep or any kind of post in the discussion thread?

I hope you guys are still around.

I also hope I don't have to carry BAC onwards on my shoulders if you guys are really gone.

/me thinks it has something to do with the jaffa, and points out there have been many times while he has carried on and drove the Protectorate because no one else was posting.

Anyway, I apologize for not posting. You wouldn't believe what kind of a schedule the engineering department has me on this year.

When I'm not listening to idiots talking about polymers, I've been dreaming about ideas for the Drone and Hive conflict. Basically I imagine Franco's flotilla getting drawn into GHE space and ambushed.

I'm planning to have Franco die, by the way.

I'm still here, but rather busy a lot of the time... hopefully not for long, though.

                Heh.

Good to hear from you Prez aqnd General. I'm glad you guys are still around.

I perfectly understand you guys being busy with work and classes. Hell, I go through the same thing myself last fall and winter.

I just wanted to know if you guys were still alive.

Lonestar, I'm putting the Goa'uld and Stargate plot-line to a close. I think there's going to be 2 more posts about that, so the whole issue will be resolved, then we can move on without worrying any further about these characters and races (Goa'uld and Jaffa).

Anyways, I'm probably going to finish the storyline within the next two weeks. Then afterwards, the UA might engage in one more war, then after that, the UA won't engage in warfare again until either the Progenitors or the Massive Alien Threat.

The UA's blitzkrieg attacks are very similiar to Nazi Germany, and that is my intent. However, there won't be any megalomnia or an evil Hitler-like persona for the Academician.

He will probably be more like Julius Caesar and either Aristotle or Thomas Edison rolled into one.

Sounds cool. Beware the Ides of March!

That reminds me. I've been thinking about having an electoral cycle in the Drone Republic, probably after the Hive conflict. I thought I could showcase some of the political practices and intrigue in the Republic.

Further, I might make Adams lose to the Socialists because of public anger over her handling of the Hive conflict, among other issues.

That in turn might affect relations with other factions, and change the political climate before the Progenitor War.

                    Sounds like a good idea.

In my opinion, there has been too much warfare lately, with things blowing each other up.

Hence, my decision to shift my storytelling to less military aspects after I finish the Goa'uld and the one yet undecided war.

I have an idea for that war, but I dunno if I should do it.

You see, I checked the map on the BAC website. I noticed the Gaians and Cyborgs lie directly between UA main territories and Sol.

So the UA might need to annex either faction to have a continuous border from the west / southwest area of the galaxy all the way to Sol.

Since Alyznia isn't coming back at all, and it doesn't look like there'll be new writers anytime soon, I thought I would do the blitzkrieg aganist either the Gaians or the Cyborgs.

This could kill a couple birds with a stone. First, it would eliminate a faction to keep BAC interesting. It would be the first time a Chironian faction actually conquers another Chironian faction. Second, it would help to cut down on the "too many factions" problem.

So far, the only major factions would be the UA, Morganites, Drones, Hive, Sparta, Cadre, the Protectorate, and the now defunct Terran Alliance.

The only two minor factions that saw action / story postings would be the Believers and Peacekeepers.

The Cult of Planet, Gaians, and the Cyborgs are pretty much nonexistent, storywise and author-wise.

The UA attack on either Gaians or Cyborgs would be remiscient of Hitler's blitzkrieg aganist Czech, annexing it to ensure Mediterrean ports and a continuous territory from Germany and Austria to the shores of the Mediterrean.

                    What do you think?

                    • I certainly think that would be interesting. It would definitely be a kind of story we haven't had too much of recently.

Certainly the Cyborgs have never had a human writer and don't look like getting one anytime soon. I think, though, Frankychan said there was some sort of unofficial relationship between the Gaians and the Hive. There might be something about it on his web site.

                      Broadly, however, I approve.

                      • I'll go ahead and deal with the Cyborgs.

However, I'll delay the Gaian conquest until after the Cyborgs, so Franky can comment or offer ideas about the Gaians, and how it will affect the Hive.

However, I have an idea for that. Perhaps the main Gaian territory will be conquered, and the surviving Gaians flee to their special moon inside the Hive borders.

That way, the Gaians will still exist in some form, but as a very minor player, not as a "major" power / faction.

                        • Sounds like tempting fate there, Sovereign. Emperor Yang is a mean fellar when provoked.
                          Empire growing,
                          Pleasures flowing,

                          • Sorry guys for not checking in....

Anyway, here's how I see it. If the University starts attacking Gaian holdings, and with the Hive already being whipped up into a bloodlust, it would be a perfect chance for both of us to eliminate the Gaians. I would probably have to make it where Yang breaks the unofficial treaty with the Gaians...but I think it's possible.

Yang will see the University attacking Gaian holdings as a cue for the Hive to wipe out the Gaians from the Hive. Basically, I'll make it where GHE will look like a bunch of conniving meanies....

....OR I can make Yang be the "protector" and keep any Gaians inside Hive space as refugee's. In either way, the Gaians will be destroyed and the University-Hive relationship will not be damaged.

(more of my thoughts coming up real fast........I have to switch work stations).

                            • ....back.

Anyway, as stated before, I'm going to show readers "how we do it Hive-style". I want to show that the Hive is pretty brutal when it comes to invasions and such.

As for the Drone-Hive "altercations", Crimson, can you give some idea's on how you want stuff to go? I'll get my post up within a couple of days (I have sporadic internet connection now). But I'll stop short of us actually attacking each other.

This University-Gaian Vendetta is pretty interesting. But just to be fair, I'll probably keep the Gaian holdings in Hive territory, effectively making them indentured servants to Yang. This way, they are out of the picture indefinitely, but will still remain if someone down the line wants to take them over again

                              • Greetings once again!

As for the Drone-Hive "altercations", Crimson, can you give some idea's on how you want stuff to go? I'll get my post up within a couple of days (I have sporadic internet connection now). But I'll stop short of us actually attacking each other.
                                No problem.

Last time we saw them, the three Hive Corvettes of the advance scout force wiped out a couple of Franco's ships, but were still outnumbered about thirty-odd to one. What I thought might happen is that Franco beats them and advances into Hive territory (both because of his standing orders and because of over-confidence), where he gets jumped by the real military.

I imagine that Franco's people are unprepared for the Hive ships' tactics: the collectivist actions, the patterns of force concentration, the occasional suicidal attacks. Though the Drones themselves use some similar ideas (my idea for the climax of the battle was for Franco to use his crippled command ship as a battering ram), I think they should come out much the worse from this encounter.

Does that more or less make sense?
