Gaian Irregulars, operating deep in the former University lands, observed several Cycon Transports as they visited a local depression outside the former University bases. After the Cycon Transports had left the Gaians investigated what turned out to be a Cycon "trash dump": among other things, the Gaian scouts reported finding the works of da Vinci, the collected works of Shakespeare, and most disturbing a copy of Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" had been thrown out! Gaian Intelligence Operatives, also operating in the region, have intercepted several Cycon broadcasts, including what amounts to what appears to be the "Cycon Romance Channel", as follows:

War by definition is brutal. Once CyCon trade representatives found PK’s terms for bartering their tech unacceptable, we logically obtained it by force instead. Now PK demands unreasonable retribution from us to end the war therefore CyCon “brutality” has not intimidated them. CyCon cautions you against inciting your followers with the use of such terms.
We applaud you on our Treaty renewal. Once we liberate The Manifold Nexus from PK, we expect Planet’s approve as well.

All Cycon takes great offence at your voyeuristic ease-dropping. These “romance” channels are very highly classified among our people. You have given us cause to regret our staid hand last year when we could have easily swatted these infiltrators located in PK and former Uni territories.
If you stand with PK and you will fall with PK. It is of little consequence to us. Yet, there is still time to re-consider. If you have not yet engaged in any overtly hostile actions against CyCon personnel then a Treaty is still possible! If we do not here from you by year end, then war it is. BTW Lord Darsnan, is Gaian “High” Command a throwback to the 1960’s Earth drug culture?

Well, I haven't offered it to Hobbes on that basis (I'd assumed that someweher between 10 to 20 turns would happen in that time frame, which would represent a fair investment of Hobbes' time) - it was more or less as my replacement

Well, Hobbes hasn't responded to my e-mail, and I see that carry-on retrictions have been eased somewhat thru Heathrow, so maybe I can take my laptop after all, and continue as usual
