Sorry to jump in here but I am looking to find a game with reliable vets as I am frustrated that all of my games are stalled. So if any of you are looking for another game, just let me know.

And Hi, Flubber. We reached the same conclusion - I'm in around 12 games, but this one is the only one that has seen a turn for 3 weeks now, so we ytalked about this group starting another.

For me, it's be a privilige having you join us to make a reliable fivesome of vets

We'd discussed a true test with all 7 factions - human and AI - being identical factions (Sparta has been suggested) so that it'd be a ture test of skill (in determing which faction was attacking us, as I got 'shot down" when I suggested making 6 clones with different colors and leaders' pics)

Flubber, if you're interested in our upcomming game, then as far as I'm concerned welcome aboard.

Googlie, as long as I'm not required to monkey with my alpha-text (or whatever it's called in my SMAC/X folder on my hard drive) then clone away. I just thought it was easier to use that bug where any faction can look like any other faction you choose at startup.


BTW, I'm not much of a Sparta player so I've been reading up on them in the archieves. I'm going to have to try out a few SP games and test some ideas. After all, I don't want to get wooped to badly.

well I had 2 games that were active until recently but lately it seems like nothing is moving. I noticed this thread was always near the top so I popped in.

I hadn't necessarily intended to jump into your upcoming rematch but would welcome the opportunity. Sparta is probably my weakest faction so it would be a good learning opportunity as well if all the players are fine with my participation-- I know that four is a very good number for a game so I totally undestand if anyone wants to keep the numbers down.

I think sparta is one of the weakest factions for all of us (Although I suspect googlie probably has the edge) so we're all in the same boat. I'm also the first to acknowledge that this game is currently being held up mostly by me and any additional delays caused by a fifth player probably wouldn't change that.
