Didn't manage to get round to this yesterday, being as the network died about five minutes before I was going to leave yesterday... Suffice to say it was a late night (New job is in IT tech support)

My story on causing heartburn to a network: the company I was working for was running DHCP on their network. I was running a test on a computer that was relatively processor intensive, however the test guys in the section liked to use the computer to access the internet. So I go the bright idea to disconnect the LAN cable, so as to ensure that the processor stayed dedicated to its number crunching task. When the test was done I re-connected the LAN cable. However the DHCP network had re-assigned the IP address from my computer, so when my computer popped back onto the network a conflicting IP address situation occured in the corporate router. Took our IT guys a while to trace it back to me......
