I don't know that I understand this any better than you but I'll see what I can reveal

    I have 2217 at

    2217_____3960_______883______________475

as at turn start -- IT appears my accumulated has already added the "RP this turn"-- 408+475= 883. I have also noted that I started the turn at 100%ECON but upon opening 2218 I found myself at 100% Labs--so I must have made that switch in 2217. THis would have markedly increased lab production

Here are the rest of MY numbers as they existed at turn start

    2217_____3960_________883___________475___0%
    2218_____3960_________2376__________1545
    2219_____4050_________2206__________4094
    2220_____4140_________1994__________2014

Obviously these would not be completely accurate as I tweaked bases.

I am not quite sure how this all is supposed to go but I know that in 2221 I was running things 50% Labs and still exceeding 1000 RP a turn. MY 2219 seems consistent with there being solar flares applied to the production that turn ( ie at the end of 2218/beginning of 2219) that tripled energy production. Note that I made discoveries in 2219 and in 2220. The carryover is consistent -- I think-- I had 2000+points, produced 4000 ( perhaps more depending on how I adjusted specialists that turn) for a total of 6000+ --So 3960 of that would go for my discovery and I would also lose any additional labs from the base which produced the labs that brought me up to the tech cost.--- So over 2000 sounds right for my next carryover.

Bottom line is that there are some inconsistencies in the numbers which I really don't totally understand . .. BUT I WAS producing LABS at a rate of about 500 when running 0% Labs while1500- 2000ish is about right when I am at 100% Labs. I remember in 2218 tweaking things enough such that I would make a discovery IN 2219, while in 2219 my production was so massive I knew that I would make another discover in 2220.

I did get a new tech in 2219-- But . .. I had not gotten it at the time of your numbers-- Obviously at least some of these numbers are recalculated at the start of my turn-- THis is obvious in your tech cost numbers for me

The only really weird thing is that your numbers show me getting a research spike in 2218 whereas mine show it coming in 2219 and that is where I experienced the spike. Odd and I may investigate futher but on the whole the totality of the research points seems fine. I had a solar flare effect for one turn. If you look at my research now, you will see that 4000 Research points is pretty attainable for me during a solar flare.

Your numbers for 2220 make no real sense since I absolutely had a large tech carryover in 2221 ( and will have another discovery in 2222 IIRC

I don't think I would ever need to generate that many-- I think 4000 ish points explains how I research a 4000 cost tech and have a 2000 ish carryover

        • Prophet Cha Flubber spoke to his congregation on factionwide spectra-vision

" My people-- I regret to inform you that at 6:42 a.m. today, the government of Cha Hobbes has declared war on us. A group of our pleasure tourists happened on some papers that were blowing about in the street in one of the remote Hobbsian outposts and provided them to their ships captain. The tourists had no idea that the papers contained a technological advance known as Superstring Theory but the Hobbsian government saw fit to declare war based on this event.

Upon the declaration, our border forces immediately went to Defense Condition ONE and engaged forces within weapons range. Two locusts and a rover were destroyed before the Central Command issued recall orders.

The Primate of Defense has ordered all our blessed units to move AWAY from the homelands of Hobbes and has downgraded our defense alert to DEFENSE CONDITION TWO. Any unit within strike range of our bases may be fired upon but otherwise our units will simply maintain their border positions.

My people . . . our forces are strong and are prepared to deal with any threat. While we do not seek war with the forces of Hobbes, we ARE prepared to defend our lands. With the guidance of Chiron, we have every confidence . You will note, howvere that we have temporarily moved our economy to an all-cash basis so as to be better able to respond to any events.

In happier news, we are pleased to announce the completion of the Cloning Vats. This amazing device will allow us to more quickly spread the Word of Chiron. IT is anticipated that we will soon be in a position to loft satellites that will increase our food production and allow further growth of the True Faith

          • In response to such an unprovoked attack we have decided to bring life and liberty to a previously enslaved population on our borders. It is hoped that more acts of liberty will follow soon.

            Onwards.

              • Flubber stole a tech and was forced to declare Vendetta & then proceeded to destroy units-- I think that's what happened.

My initial resport was completely accurate. I stole a tech. THis will cause Hobbes to vendetta me and then I shot down some of Hobbes locusts that were hanging about my territory.

From his report, I guess he took a base in retaliation and that will mean all out war I guess.

The deterioration of our relationship was inevitable. When we were pacted he felt that he should be free to travel my territory despite my requests otherwise and as a treatymate he kept multiple locusts in strike range of my core again in the face of my requests not to do so.

The very fact that he was in a position to take a base is, to me, evidence of his intentions.

No problem-- I'm just a little curious to see what Hobbes attacked--

                        • Hey Guys,

Just wanted to let you know. My youngest has a bookreport, a science project, and a Pine Wood Derby car to complete this month. On top of that I'm painting closets in our new addition so I was a little tied up today. I loose access to my computer tonight until Thursday afternoon. I will try to get the turn played then.

                          Sorry,

                          Will

NO problem-- Real Life takes me away from gaming lots ( ie the one year old gets cranky or the four year old is sick)-- I always figure that we just all try to do the best we can so the game is fun for everyone and not a burden

                              • hmmm I don't think I got it on the on the 10th but my email was acting screwy last week

In any event I know I sent it to tras. IT was either on the 16th or 17th

Note that tras may be alive far longer in this version. He changed his play enough that it is no longer worth my while to try to kill him-- I would not blame him at all if he just self-destructed that last base-- ON my last look, support requirements were taking up ALL the mineral production of his base anyway.

I don't mind if tras plays or goes. My view is that since we chose to replay the last number of turns, he was free to change his play as he wanted . WE have already diverged a fair bit from the first version-- If tras wants to continue to play, thats fair ball-- But since he was already eliminated once , I also see it as fair to everyone if he chooses to call it a day and self-destruct the last base.
