  • So I'm playing Believers with tech stag and blind research and am currently at war on one front with the Uni's, and on another front with the Hive. Well the Hive managed to scrape together enough EC's to subvert one of my 4/1/2 SAM Rovers, which Yang immediately upgrades to a 10/1/2 SAM Rover and starts mass producing!?!
But now comes the interesting part: when one of my aircraft attacks a city with one of these SAM units in it why the SAM unit is chosen first over Yang's 2/3/1 and 1/3/1 defenders!?!
Edit: also, if my needlejet attacks a 10/1/2 SAM unit within a base radius which has an interceptor in it, the interceptor won't scramble! Very interesting!

    • Groundbased SAM seems to be considered superior to air defense abilities by the combat algorithms.

      • Darsnan, when your jets fight the <10>-1-2 rovers are the odds like 'NJ attack:1' or 'NJ attack:10', alas which value of defender is taken into account?

The SAM Rovers are defending, and so have a strength of 1.

          • Bah, that's a good bug!

SAM rovers IRL would defend with attack value as it's an 'active defense' not 'passive' compared with some plasma infantry armed with MGs at best.

Yes- I had the privilege as Morgan of seeing the Spartans (allied with the Peacekeepers!!!) both attacking me along with Zakharov, and of the Peackeepers thoughtfully dropping of a Mk. 2 Ogre to attack me near a recently established frontier city.

Yeah, that really makes the game a challenge.

I'm trying to figure out who the pics are. Darla Lane looks like a character who appeared on Andromeda. I'm not sure if I should recognize Quintris or Elizabeth.
Personally, I wonder who Bre Ata is...

Search NetworkNode for 'Sisters of something' (maybe 'Planet').

All I did was download factions from networknode and changed the alpha.txt to play against them! that's all! I never swapped pics or anything.
