Yeah.. you are right... we also have a continuing discussion going on in another thread, and multiple other threads that have been started on the subject that are still around if people weren't to lazy to look for them

There is really no need for everybody to start their own personal thread just because they got a server busy message...

Stop me if I'm getting too technical.

Hmmm... I don't consider it market feedback when somebody starts a whole new thread just to point out that they got a server busy message. Considering how many people have already done so in the past, and continue to do so... it could hardly be considered useful information at this point. I think the owners are already aware of the problem... and have continued to address it in other places. I can't see why demanding them to address the issue yet again in your own personal thread is a benefit to them

I'm with Laz. Sometimes thread titles just aren't that informative, like "so..." or "What just happened?" to name but two recent threads.

As moderators, I guess you have to have a look at most threads anyway, especially those with undescriptive subjects. But when you're looking if someone else recently raised one specific question you're not going to go through all threads in this forum, rather you look for subjects that seem to relate to that question. If you can't find any, you post your own thread.

If that thread is then deleted without notice, how are you supposed to get your answer? If indeed there are other threads about the same topic, maybe you could close the new thread and post a link to the old one, or delete the thread and PM the thread starter.

          I agree unreservedly.

However I started posting to ask if any improvements were in hand to change things, which is rather different. Plus, if you hadn't deleted the threads then some kind soul like UR would doubtless have posted the point about the user access. I'd have posted "Oh I see. Thanks UR" and that would be that. Additionally, anyone else thinking similar thoughts would see a clearly titled thread with a clear answer, and would have their question answered too.

I'd be perfectly happy to use PM, incidentally.

Closing with links provided is often best, but on this occasion you didn't need to search very hard, even if the thread titles were uninformative.

              Then why didn't you...

But seriously... I can understand your displeasure with having your thread deleted... most people are displeased when that happens... However, put youself in our shoes... The owners are busy people... they are already addressing those types of questions in other threads. This is a continuing situation, and they have limited time to respond to people on this site. If we allowed everybody their own personal, gee, I got a server busy message, what's going on thread... they couldn't possibly address every one of them. Plus, that could be the entire first page of the community forum.

When the site goes down for a significant point of time, the owners address it... usually with an announcement or a thread. A server busy message, is just that, a momentily busy server. If it continues for a long time, it will be addressed... just like the earlier today problems.

Yeah... and having the owners personally address every individual post with long explainations would be even better. But we are talking about the time involved. Yeah, "how long would it take" you must be saying... not very long is the answer... but multiple it many times, and now it's considerable. All of us who volunteer their free time do many other things than monitor this forum and wait to respond to repetitive threads. Your thread was just one of the many continuing new threads on the topic. So, sometimes you get personal attention, when there's time, and sometimes... you don't. Is it the perfect solution... no... but it's reality.

Well, in any event we've now got more information on the subject so I'm happy that we've made progress as a result.
