I had some, uh, spare time, and decided to do a little draft ranking. If you are lower than you expected don't take it personally, we can't all be me.
Teh Peeled Bananas - EPW
Draft grade: A+ Projection: 15 - 0
What a powerful and well-formed team - a team anyone would be proud of. But perhaps it shouldn't be a surprise that EPW pulled off another amazing draft after his record-breaking performance last year which included 3 200+ point games and 7 more 160+ point games. This year the team is lead by the two best players at their respective positions - Jahmyr Gibbs at RB and Josh Allen at QB. Josh Jacobs and Drake London are no slouches either and in fact both players could be round 1 or 2 picks if it weren't for some unfortunate externalities(Bad team in London's case and some minor legal trouble for jacobs). The team rounds off nicely with Jahmyr's protégé David Montgomery finally having a chance to prove himself in Houston.
Culverhouse Party - ColdWizard
Draft grade: A- Projection: 9 - 6
After some reconsideration, I have revised my original projection of a 7-8 record up to a 9-6 record, the second best in the league. Yes, this team is a bit injury prone, but if ColdWizard can avoid that, there is no doubt that this is a highly competitive team. Many of his players are former Bananas, and it's always good to see participants in our league learning from others. McCaffrey is fantastic, of course(Bananas '24/'25), and Nico Collins played an important role as WR3 on my rather overloaded receiver corps last year. Derrick Henry could serve in the role that James Cook did for me last year, but Henry is getting really up there in age. Zay Flowers was on my team in '24, and was a bright light in and otherwise dark place, and I've heard he's improved since then. Judkins, although he didn't contribute much last year, certainly has the talent or I would not have drafted him. Overall, this is a good team.
Nimrods - mguth
Draft grade: B+ Projection: 8 - 7
The combination of Joe Burrow and Jakon Smith-Njigba(Bananas '25) is a powerful one, almost on the level of the Allen/Gibbs pairing we saw with EPW. Of course, mguth had to draft Jakon in the first round to make this happen while the Bananas picked him up in the 5th round last year. Still, it's nothing to sneeze at. Trey McBride is, of course, a formidable player as well, but TEs can have unpredictable production due to a certain lack of respect from team leadership, as we have so often seen in the past. The rest of the team is fine.
Vicious Rabbits - -Jrabbit
Draft grade: B Projection: 8 - 7
There are some things to like about this team. Ja'Marr Chase is almost as good as Smith-Njigba and Omarion Hampton was a excellent pick up in the late 2nd round. There is definitely a world in which Hampton is the 2nd best RB in the league. Brock Bowers is a disaster 3rd round pick though - a TE and a RAIDER? I don't know what Jrabbit was thinking here; I expect a total implosion by week 4 at the latest. Javontte Williams and D'Andre Swift were good pick ups in the 4th and 5th round, so the Rabbits should have a very good to possibly great RB corps despite drafting them a bit late. Unfortunately we can't expect much from his WRs or QB, but I think it will all even out. This could very well be a playoff team despite the 3rd round blunder.
Omaha Steaks - Flatlander Fox
Draft grade: B Projection: 8 - 7
Fox, drafting late, got a good pair of RBs in round 1/2. His most brilliant pick was AJ Brown in 3.09, a most excellent WR. Another RB, Hall, in round 4 may have been overkill though. Waddle(former Banana, couldn't really hold his own in '25) was a good pick though. Travis Hunter is an interesting choice, and I predict Fox will pick up at least one extra win due to his membership on the team. Aubrey in round 9 was also interesting, but this seems too aggressive to me. Nevertheless, the top 3 picks are solid enough to carry Fox to at least a 500 record.
Mingapolcos - Ming
Draft grade: B Projection: 7 - 8
This was a very solid draft and there's not much to criticize. Puka and Barkley will lead the team to many victories. Lamar Jackson in the 3rd was a bit weak, Skattebo was a good, safe, pick up in the 4th, and you got to love that name. I like his later WR picks, smith and evans, as well. Getting an LB in the 9th round was a bold decision, a strategy that has been tried by others with mixed success in the past. Mahomes in the 10th also feels like a good pick up.
Demonballers - Demonbinder
Draft grade: B Projection: 7 - 8
Bijan Robinson should be great, but Justin Jefferson seems a bit risky for round 2. The same goes for Drake Maye in round 3... it looks like Demon fell into EPW's trap by being compelled to draft a QB early. Josh Allen is simply on another level and is the only QB worthy of a round 3 pick up. But it's okay, others have fallen for EPW's prestidigitations in the past and more will in the future too. The rest of his team is kinda bog-standard but one must give respect to anyone who drafts Tank Bigsby.
Dallas Dwarf Catchers - cb4
Draft grade: B Projection: 7 - 8
There are, unfortunately, a lot of question marks around the running backs that cb4 picked up. James Cook had a great season for the Bananas last year, but can he do it again? Probably, but there are other players on the team to consider. Jaylen Warren and Gainwell are also pretty questionable, but who knows, the universe is a big place. The QB and WR corps look good, with Jalen Hurts, and Chris Olave(also a Banana alumni, who do to extreme competition(WR4), was mostly a bench player, but he shined in the championship game) and CD Lamb(Bananas '22). With a little luck, this team could make the playoffs.
Lanny's Lumberjacks - lannyw51
Draft grade: B- Projection: 6 - 9
The premiere player on this team is Amon-Ra St. Brown. Unfortunately, the talent level takes a big step down after the first round. Ashton Jeanty may be a talented RB, but he's on the Raiders, and thus cursed. I expect nothing but mid to low tier production from him. The QB situation isn't much better: Caleb Williams had a good year last year but one has to remember he plays for the Bears. Most shockingly of all Lanny's QB2 is Kyler Murray, who single-handedly destroyed teh Peeled Bananas playoff hopes in two seasons in the past. I'm afraid the team is doomed.
Bzzz - Berz
Draft grade: F- Projection: 0 - 15
Insipid, uninspired, trash.

Stephon Diggs cost Washington their game. He scored a TD and jumped onto the field goal post and that turned a 2pt chance to tie into a long extra point.Comment

I won some cash in daily fantasy but would have had more if Loveland was part of the offense. Drake Maye with his three sacks and three INT's really hurt me in my match against Eric who has Josh Allen. Well, it's only week one. 🙂Comment
