I think 11 people have confirmed, Lanny (Galloping Ghosts) is dropping

from what I understand Yahoo will pick a team if we have an odd number. If that is the case I think its only fair that the rest of us maintain that team's roster during the season or we leave the team intact but with no roster positions filled, ie a shut out for all of us when we play that team.

Weird. In the past, odd numbers were just prohibited by Yahoo.
I do not want to play in a league with a deliberate ghost team. Especially with an unbalanced schedule. That's just goofy.

From your description the "empty team" would actually contain 24 NFL players - including a lot of legit starters - that are unavailable in the player pool once Yahoo snags them.

That's unacceptable. The goal should be an even number of full and active participants.

At least with a slow draft, we know we have a certain level of commitment and participation. Every live draft I've ever done has had at least two teams auto-drafting - usually without even ranking the players. I hate that.

This has been a slow draft Poly League for many years. That's what I signed up for and if that's what it is, I'm all in.

If it's turned into something else, like a live draft league for refugees from Chris62's old gang and random players from other sites (not that there's anything wrong with that), that's fine, but I'm less interested.

Mr Brain said he wont play a slow draft, Walrus is unclear if he'll play but wont be able to make picks in a slowdraft, and Ming hasn't joined yet. I sent Cy an email and somebody dropped because they thought they were the odd man. Vlad said a slowdraft will be hard for him.
