    • So WVU has had 5 turnovers and are still leading the game? Well that's just... I don't... huh?
Look at that stat line for Boykins.

8-24, averaging under 4 yards per throw.

Boykins should lose his starting job. The problem with the frogs has always been that they had a choice between burning trash (Corey Pachell), and slightly less than burning trash in Boykins.

They have great RBs, great receivers. And a tire fire at QB.

I was thrilled to see Pachell and his worthless ass gone, but disappointed to see that Boykins won the job. I laughed when I saw people saying, "he's Heisman". No, no he's not.

If they lose this game, they will bench him and develop a real QB and not bother bringing him back for his senior year. If they win through D and running the ball, they'll keep him on as a game manager.

If I'm an NFL general manager I stay far, far, far away from Boykins.

      • Trevone Boykin 8/25 102 line of the day. ****ing Boykins.

Catalon is 12-75 on the ground. He may pass Boykins. Green is 9-57.

Boykins has had 31 touches and gained 121 yards so far. Good for a running back.

          • Bwaha, WVU blows it on horrendous play calling at the end and blown zone coverage. What a prime example of Holgorsen cluster****ery.

              • Oh wow. Damn. Just damn.

Frogs survive a scare in Morgantown! 7-1.

One more big hurdle - KSU.

Also, Texas is officially eliminated from the Big 12 championship. **** you Horns.

                  • How about that for a rough schedule? Ranked Oklahoma, ranked Okie Light, ranked Baylor, Texas Tech, ranked WVU and then ranked KSU?

                    5 ranked teams, 6 weeks.

                    • Oregon DOMINATED Stanford 45-16. One of the best defenses in the country. Wow.

And with Ole Miss losing, Oregon will be #4 at least in the committee rankings. Noice!

Not this year, sorry. They beat unranked Stanford. TCU beat ranked WVU. TCU's moving up.

Also, Utah lost. Meaning that Oregon won't play another ranked team.

I'm not sure you get into the national championship with just 1 win vs a ranked team and Big 10 at that.

Welcome to the top 10, 8-1 Colorado State.

Welcome back, bees. Georgia falls from 11 all the way out of the rankings. East Carolina falls from 16 outside of the rankings. Arizona falls outside of the rankings as does Utah. Ole Miss falls to 23 but stays on. It sucks being overrated.

                          NR: Georgia, East Carolina, Iowa.

Pac-16 has just two ranked teams, number 11, Arizona State and number 15, Oregon. It's a real down year for the Pac-16. Mountain West has 3 now, Colorado State, Boise State and Air Force.

                          • Now that the dust is settled:

                            1. Mississippi State
                            2. Auburn
                            3. Florida State
                            4. Alabama
                            5. Oregon
                            6. Michigan State
                            7. TCU
                            8. Notre Dame
                            9. Arizona State
                            10. Baylor

Next five, some order of: Ohio State, Nebraska, Kansas State, Ole Miss and Utah. Top 5 remains the same, although Alabama hasn't really beaten anyone of note as of yet. That will likely change in the next few weeks, but I'll give them credit for some dominant wins over decent teams. But Oregon will replace them for sure if the Ducks keep winning, especially like they did last night. My gut tells me FSU should drop, but they still are the unbeaten defending champs, and until they lose they're certainly playoff-bound.

                            Pac-12:

Oregon - in the driver's seat for the conference. Unless they have inexplicable disasters against Colorado and Oregon State, bound for the championship game. The dominating win over Stanford was played in prime time before a national audience, and Mariota's firmly the Heisman favorite at this point. The possibility of a letdown game at Utah cannot be overlooked. But they continue to be masters of their own destiny, a berth in the playoffs assured if they win out.

Arizona State - As stated last week, the 2nd-best team in the conference! They have the edge in the Pac-12 south, so it will likely be Oregon-ASU in the championship match-up.
Utah - Gut-wrenching OT loss, but they have a great defense and proved they were just as good as the Sun Devils. Missing OT field goals sucks, as the Ducks can attest.

UCLA - A surprisingly good defensive performance allowed Huntley to use his legs and drive them to a win. Much improved since the ASU drubbing.
USC - A convincing win over Wazzu, but the Cougs had a disastrous loss (see below). They'll need a lot of help to win the south.

Arizona - The cats have been severely harmed by injuries since they started the season so strong. Their hopes of winning the south are pretty slim now, but beating ASU will help them tremendously.
Stanford - They lack of offensive production really caught up with them. Despite having one of the better defenses in the country, having their offense sputter allowed the Ducks to flip the script from last year and run it up their gut. They just walked into a buzz saw of an Oregon team that was salivating for revenge.

California - They're 1 win away from being bowl-eligible after going 1-11 last season. Goff might be the 2nd-best QB in the conference, especially given what happened to Wazzu (SEE BELOW).
Washington - They struggled against the Buffs before pulling away, but it ended up as a strong win. Still, that's probably not going to mollify Husky fans who--perhaps unreasonably--expected much better from Petersen's first season.
Colorado - Still better than they've been in the past. Hanging with Washington as they did is a good sign. But until wins start coming...

Oregon State - Looked a little better against Cal, but they lost, and they still stink.
Washington State - Heartbreaking for Wazzu. Connor Halliday suffered a broken leg early on, which ends his season and his college career. Terrible, awful way for him to go out. And it certainly dooms the Cougs to be bottom-dwellers yet again for this season. After three years, there are louder and louder grumblings that the Mike Leach experiment has failed.

My guess as to the playoff committee's rankings: Mississippi State, Florida State, Auburn, Oregon

                              • But Oregon will replace them for sure if the Ducks keep winning

Yeah, Oregon replacing Alabama if Alabama doesn't lose against the SEC?

Oregon doesn't even play another ranked team the rest of the season. Alabama still has MS State on the docket.

The only way Oregon moves up is if Alabama or Awbrun loses. TCU should move up ahead of Oregon.

                                Playoffs:

                                Florida State
                                Alabama
                                Michigan State
                                TCU/Baylor/Kansas State.
