Well, I'll say this. Watching a shootout is absolutely more entertaining than 3 hours of overtime.
But the result of a shootout is empty. If I had my way, all games (even regular season) would be continuous OT... and teams would get zero points for an OT loss. A loss is a loss.

Watching the third period of that game was painful.
Going into the overtime my wife and I switched venues to the bedroom and she asked me how long to set the timer on the TV.
