Demonbinder did and that's why he asked. You say you don't care but you keep pretending that you answered his question.
PLEASE just admit that you didn't answer his question and you don't know the answer.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

No one cares. That's the answer, rah. I gave an analogy with OPS+ back in 1929. Did they care about those things? No. Do people care about 'shots attempted?' also no.

What a douche. I can see you now when one of your students asks you a question. Instead of answering him/her, you just tell them no one cares, and then tell them some BS bible story and then when they look at you puzzled you just tell them, what are you looking at, I gave you an answer to an analogy.
At least you're now admitting that you didn't answer demonbinders question so I guess that's something.

It's the truth. If people didn't care enough about something to record it then it is true that people didn't care enough about these things. It's not rocket science.
You would rather I make up pretend stats that make you feel better?
Instead of answering him/her, you just tell them no one cares
Plenty of the work I do is with things where the answer is 'no one cares'. It's actually important information in my field. If someone did care enough, but we aren't sure what the answer is, that's one thing. If someone did care enough, and we do have an answer that I don't know, that's another thing. I'm perfectly frank if I get stumped. It happens occasionally and I make a point of challenging the students to come up with questions that I don't know the answer.
If I know the answer, and I know the answer is (after checking into it), is that no one cared about these things back then - then that tells us valuable information. It also saves wasting people time.
What I teach is how to make educated guesses based off of partial information. So we know that the answer is that people didn't care about these things back then. So how do we come up with reasonable approximations? This is a very valuable skill. I have quizzes full of 'impossible information'. The test isn't about knowing the answer - it's about making educated guesses.
I gave you an answer to an analogy.
You gonna pay me to find out? I charge 20/hour.
At least you're now admitting that you didn't answer demonbinders question
I did answer it. You just didn't like that the answer doesn't fellate Chicago. Is it likely that this is the record? Also no.

If you don't know the answer to a question, don't answer it. It's that simple. Please read back through the thread and see just how many time you said you answered the question, and then when you were called out on it you did what you always do. You changed the topic by saying the answer isn't important because no one cares and tried to change the topic.
You still haven't answered the question that DEMONBINDER asked. 'no one cares' isn't an answer no matter how many times you claim it is.

Good god. "If you don't know you can make it up, as long as it sounds good." I'm not sure that 'education' is the right term for whatever the hell it is you do.

I do know the answer to it. The answer is that no one cares enough about shot attempts to record them in a consistant fashion.
I am, however, for the low, low, low, fee of 20/hr, willing to do research to confirm.
Let me know if you care enough about shot attempts to pay me for my time.
You changed the topic by saying the answer isn't important because no one cares
That is the answer. The answer is that no one cares about shot attempts.
You still haven't answered the question that DEMONBINDER asked.
Demonbinder asked two questions.
The answers are:
1, is this a record for combined shots? I already answered that quite awhile back - no.
2, is this a record for combined shot attempts? No one cares.
But like I said, you obviously care enough so pony up the dough so I can devote my time to research.

Oh, the questions do have exact answers that can be proven. The closer you get the better. I don't throw bull**** questions that do not have an exact answer.
Making educated guesses is a very valuable skill.

Depends on many factors, but in some places in the US ~$2.
That'll be $20 please.
Now, do that without having googled it.

At the risk of, well, many things - Why on earth would I do that?
Because, it's a skill that comes in handy. If you know how much things should cost, you know how to plan a budget and you know how to shop and get good deals on things.
It helps in measuring, building things - lots of different things, where you can, with experience have a general idea of how much you need to do something.
It's also something that's not being taught very well.
The other thing is what I was referring to earlier as historical literacy. Ok, so you don't memorize the numbers, but if someone said president number 27 was who? 1778 - 2012 is 44, so 27 would be around Coolidge or so. I take a guess and say Coolidge.
It turns out to be Taft. Taft, Wilson, Harding, Coolidge.
I don't want them having to remember the numbers because no one really cares about them. But I do want them to be able to make educated guesses and have a system that gives them reasonable answers. Someone who said anyone from say McKinley to FDR would be a reasonable guess for 27. Lincoln would not.
It also helps when doing a multiple choice test - if they know that two of the choices are obviously wrong - then that makes them much better off.
