Norv lost his job a few weeks back.

I was eating dinner and never saw the play. You know, it looks for all the world like he's down about a full yard short.

The orange line is really bad on that one - it's at least a half yard if not more off the position of the chains. You can clearly tell that the line is past the 39 yard hash by quite a bit, but the stick is before it or on it. Not to say one or the other is likely to be wrong (I assume it's technically the original stick, not the line-to-gain stick, that's considered correct) but it looks wrong there to me.

Kaepernick had the best rookie first start of any 49er QB in their history, Steve Young included, against one of the league's top pass defenses. His second game was sufficient, if not as spectacular. I think he's going to be really, really good. The pinpoint accuracy he had against the Bears was incredible.

Also, every player on the field for the Ray Rice play should lose his job. No running back should gain 29 yards on 4th and 29 on a dump off for any reason whatsoever. There should have been seven men waiting to tackle him 5-10 yards short of the line to gain. The DB who stands on the line at the end and waits for him, in particular, should be immediately cut. Ray Rice is big and will push forward from the tackle location some, so don't ****ing stand on the line. Stand a few yards past it, or else build up some ****ing momentum.

But I guess I shouldn't be surprised. He probably doesn't know because he doesn't watch the NFL anyway.

Chargers by all rights should have won that game. I'm happy they lost because that means getting rid of Norv Turner this year.

Meh, Jon Gruden is rumored to coach... everywhere. He's probably rumored to coach my son's pee wee football team. (Of course, my son is one year old, so I'm really talking about his day care, which seems like football sometimes with all of the one year olds running headlong into each other). I think he stays in the booth because he's far more the center of attention there, as a rumored coach for EVERYWHERE, then as a coach of just one team - and he can't lose any games while in the booth, either.
