He missed the catch on the 2 point convert that would have tied the game, and then complained about a missed penalty call when they were trying to get lined back up for one more play at the end (to try to get into better field goal range). Take either one of those out and maybe it's a Dallas win rather than a loss.

Both Lewis and Urlacher have been playing on borrowed time this year.
Lewis knew he had lost a step, so he dropped some weight this year, but I just saw a scout quoted as saying "He still knows exactly where to be and where to go, but he just can't get there anymore." Same thing we've been seeing with Urlacher.Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011

Urlacher, and presumably Lewis also, has indeed been living on his football instincts and knowledge rather than physical skill. But those instincts and knowledge are _really good_... being able to direct the defense effectively is very important; and even if he can't cover the entire field like he used to, he still can cover adequately.<Reverend> IRC is just multiplayer notepad.

Don't get me wrong; I'm well aware that the Bears defense is significantly better with Urlacher on the field.
