Ben has done this in the past and gotten away with it, finding sufficient production from lower-tier and undrafted RBs.

It's an unconventional approach. We won't know if he's "wrong" until well into the season.

I understand unconventional-- I have seen people with great success in a hockey draft where they totally ignored goalies until the late rounds ( and unlike kickers,) goalies are material and do matter. But the drafter found a couple of great sleepers and voila success. But more often such an approach (particular in deeper drafts) saddles the drafter with less attractive options and is the cause of their demise

Picking good players who outperform the consensus trumps any individual draft strategy by position. The true rankings at the end of the year are always dramatically different from the consensus at the beginning of the year.

I wouldn't recommend stacking yourself so much at an individual position that you end up with good players on the bench while you're starting bad ones at other positions. It's also possible to be "too early" on certain positions. But if you assume that the draft is roughly efficient, then once a position is broken-into, it should be about as good as any other position.

3WR teams play very differently from 3 RB ones. 3RB teams are much less swingy. My team last year was a 3 RB one, (Tomlinson, FJax, SJax) with Tolber on the bench. That's why it was notable.

I had a very deep bottom pool of WRs, that I could pick and choose from, on any given week. I was doomed at TE though when Gates went down. I had Marcedes Lewis on my list but I picked Heap instead.

In general, it's a lot more common to see people go with my strategy than Ben's (no WRs, than no RBs), because WRs are deeper than RBs (more WRs than RBs at the low end), and the top RBs score more than the top WRs. In a PPR league, that's less true (particularly one that is as high in PPR as this), but high RBs actually can score even more (dumpoff passes, as well as Marshall Faulk style RBs).

Basically, Ben's strategy is fine if you're very confident in your ability to find undervalued RBs late in the draft. Personally I don't feel that comfortable in my own abilities, and I don't know that I like Ben's RBs, but that's why we play the game.
