I did answer your question. It was on par with the McAmmond hit. Pronger got 1 game while Rome got 4 because the NHL is handing out more severe punishments for headshots now. Murphy explained this explicitly in his ruling -- it's a different game now, head shots are being taken far more seriously.

Yes the game is different now. Back in the sixties a brutal hit like some we see today never produced a suspension. Some didn't even get penalties. The players have to adjust to the new expectations and modify their behavior or be willing to accept the punishment. Of course I remember when goalies didn't wear masks and players weren't required to wear helmets.
