McNabb isn't nearly as good as he used to be, but he is still a servicable starting NFL QB. Jamarcus Russell? Rex Grossman? Are you ****ing kidding me? Is there some medical issue being kept silent?

McNabb deserves more credit. The Redskins are just not a very good team. Their O-Line stinks, their RB was on the practice squad to start the season, they really don't have any real WR's after Santana Moss... McNabb can't just come in there and turn a team that went 4-12 last year into a force.
I really don't think it's McNabb getting old. Look how good he was last year. Granted, last year he had Desean Jackson, but I don't think Desean Jackson was carrying McNabb.
McNabb is actually on pace for a career high in yardage this year (on pace for 3942; believe it or not, he never had a 4000 yard season). Much was made of McNabb finally being on a team that runs the ball but he's passing more this year than he ever did with the Eagles. The only difference is that he's not getting the TDs (no real redzone weapon) and he's been uncharacteristic with throwing INTs. But I don't think that's him. That's him trying to work with what he has."Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi

The wire services are saying the same thing about Kitna that I said. So suck a nut!
Sun, Oct 31
Bryant (ankle) had seven receptions for 84 yards in Sunday's loss to Jacksonville.
Recommendation: For the second straight game, Bryant was able to produce with Jon Kitna under center. Kitna actually played well with 379 yards and a touchdown (he also threw four interceptions but three of them were off the hands of a receiver), so losing Tony Romo hasn't had much of an impact on Bryant.

In other news, the third player in the Rivers-Eli Manning trade a few years ago (okay, it was for a draft pick which the Chargers used to get him), has been cut by the Chargers:
Once one of the most feared players in the NFL, outside linebacker Shawne Merriman was placed on waivers by the San Diego Chargers on Tuesday."Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi

He was on IR so it's not like anyone would pick him up but overall looks like the Lights are Out on Merriman."I hope I get to punch you in the face one day" - MRT144, Imran Siddiqui

The Jets game and/or the New England game, may very well be throw away games for those two teams.

Kind of football news... From the University of Michigan, at left tackle, number 69, Congressman Jon Runyan
Republican Jon Runyan, the former Philadelphia Eagles lineman, has declared victory over Democrat John Adler in New Jersey's 3rd Congressional District, returning the post to the party that had long controlled it."Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi

wow there were a lot of former NFL and NBA players who were in elections yesterday. The biggest names:
Heath Shuler, the former quarterback for the Washington Redskins and New Orleans Saints, was re-elected to Congress from North Carolina in an important race for Democrats. Shuler, part of the conservative Blue Dog coalition, held off Republican Jeff Miller in a campaign in which the football star tried to show where he broke with his party's leadership.Alan Page, the Pro Football Hall of Famer for the Minnesota Vikings, kept his seat on the Minnesota Supreme Court.Chris Dudley, 6-foot-11 center from Yale who once played for the Portland Trail Blazers, was clinging to a slim lead in his race against Democrat John Kitzhaber, The Oregonian of Portland reported. But thousands of votes remained to be counted in Multnomah County, a Democratic stronghold, according to the report."Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi

This was yesterday but Chargers WR Buster Davis was put on IR. Who is Philip Rivers going to throw to?
Moss?
(AJ Smith has already said no way so it won't happen. But what other options do the Chargers have? Who do they have now besides Patrick Crayton? Floyd and Naanee are both still banged up)"Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi
