Now, it's any given Sunday and it's hard to really tell which team shows up any given week but keeping in mind that the Jaguars are 3-2 and just knocked off the Colts and the 49ers are 0-5, let's look at the two ESPN headlines for each game (both were road games, by the way):
Eagles vs. Jaguars (with Vick):
"Vick tallies 4 TDs as Eagles overwhelm Jaguars"
"Michael Vick accounts for 4 TDs as Eagles pick apart Jaguars"
Eagles vs. Niners (with Kolb):
"Mistakes bury 49ers again; Kolb steadies Eagles" (note the implication that the Niners lost the game, not that the Eagles won)
"Kevin Kolb, Eagles survive as more turnovers keep 49ers winless"
The headlines tell the story for both games.
I suppose you'll just say that this shows how the media hates a white QB and loves the Black Vick"Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi

Ben, Kevin Kolb is 6'3". Get off his dick. He's not a Doug Flutie-like midget.
You should be rooting for Vick who is only 6' if height affects your decision making so much. Vick, Brees, Troy Smith, and Seneca Wallace (5'11") are the NFL's midget QB's."Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi

Nothing to do with anything but all my research on Flutie has caused me to think about this. Is there going to be a re-appraisal to Hall of Fame voting for quarterbacks based on era? QB's now put up numbers that dwarf anything by most of the HoF greats.
I mean look at the numbers that Rivers, Rodgers, Romo, Roethlisberger, Brees, Eli Manning, Schaub, McNabb, etc. all put up every year and they can't ALL be Hall of Famers, even though a look at their stats, compared to guys in the Hall already, would make you think they are shoe-ins.
Consider this, for example. I'll use Eli since he's the most middling of that group and he at least has a Super Bowl win:
Over the 5 years of his career since his rookie year, he's averaged 3520 yards passing and 24 TDs.
Now, this is his brother's 13th year and Peyton still has many years ahead of him. Let's say Eli only manages a 15 year career which, honestly, is pretty conservative for him. Also, that his average remains constant (it'll likely decline after 10 years in the league, but Eli's been progressively throwing more over the past two years [he is on pace for his second 4000 yard season] so he'll probably outperform his average for the next 5 years or so then decline).
That'll mean Eli will finish his career with 50,300 career yards and 342 career TD's over 15 years. That is definitely plausible for him.
That would put him #5 all time in yardage behind only Elway, Peyton, Marino, and Favre and tied with Fran Tarkenton at #4 on TDs (again, behind his brother, Marino, and Favre).
Note also, that Peyton got where he is in only 12 years, Elway in 16 years, Marino in 17 years, Favre in 19 years, and Tarkenton in 18 years.
And this is Eli Manning we're talking about! What career numbers will Rivers and Rodgers finish with?
And it's really not just this newest generation. The top 15 all-time yardage passers include such luminaries as Testaverde, Bledsoe, Kerry Collins, and Dave Krieg (who have all outpassed Jim Kelly, Steve Young, and Troy Aikman, their HoF contemporaries).Last edited by Al B. Ben hates Vick because of the dog torture and killing. Nothing will ever change that.
As for Kolb, nothing in the last couple games has been at all surprising. Apparently, you two just want to fight. I suggest a dedicated thread. The think I can speak for the rest of us when I say we're pretty bored with it.Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011

I never understood how Vick could do 2 years for killing animals, Plaxico could serve 3 years for shooting himself with a weapon licensed in Florida but not NYC, yet Donte Stallworth serves 14 DAYS for KILLING a HUMAN!

Eli Manning won't be in the HOF; but yes, the criteria will be different for the current class of NFL players. Sacks were comparatively recently added as a recorded statistic, but DL are still enshrined.Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

I don't have cable but this debuts tonight:
Taking their All-Pro games to another level, Terrell Owens and Chad OchoCinco will team up to star on "The T.Ocho Show," debuting initially as a regular segment on Versus' nightly sports show "The Daily Line" Tuesday September 7 at 11 p.m.After a five-week run as part of "The Daily Line," the half-hour show will launch officially on Versus October 12th, making it the first-ever weekly national NFL talk show starring two active players.
This is no blah, blah, video blog. T.O. and OchoCinco will offer unique in-the-huddle perspectives, behind-the-scenes insights, and their own personal outlooks on all things NFL and more.
Versus, the nation's fastest-growing sports network, will air a show guaranteed to offer viewers perhaps the two most recognizable, quotable, and entertaining pro athletes, complete with their all-pro trash talk and unconventional views.
However, "The T.Ocho Show" will be more than just a football show. Already reality-TV stars, media celebrities, and crossover personalities of American pop culture, T.O. and OchoCinco will look at the best and worst of Twitter, the most memorable moments from both players' VH1 reality shows, and many other topics--from Kim Kardashian's dating habits to Rex Ryan's eating habits.
"This is coming from the perspective of two professionals. We play the game, we live the game, and viewers will get to live it through us week-in and week-out," said Chad OchoCinco. "Versus is taking a big risk giving us this show. It's gonna be dangerous. Watch with care."
"This show will be an open forum for me and Chad to talk about things that don't get talked about in the mainstream media," said Terrell Owens. "It's an opportunity for two of the biggest loudmouths that have been in the league the last decade to voice their opinions and poke our chests out a little."
The TO quote is hilarious by the way.

Undrafted Free Agents of the Week: Undrafted Max Hall quarterbacked Arizona to a victory over defending champion New Orleans, while undrafted Shaun Hill quarterbacked the Lions to a rare victory. Hall's former teammate at BYU, the undrafted and thrice-waived Aaron Francisco, started at safety for the Colts and played well. Undrafted Danny Amendola of St. Louis is fourth in the NFL in pass receptions, while undrafted Michael Spurlock -- waived by four teams, including the UFL's Florida Tuskers -- made the deciding play in Tampa's win. Undrafted Anthony Armstrong had the big catches for Washington in its upset of Green Bay."Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi
