I always assumed getting up came after the going to the ground part. I didn't know there was a time limit. Knowing is half the battle

Yeah... for most of the first half. Then he remembered that he was Jake Delhomme, and that was a recipe of delicious comeback success for my Bucs.

Look, we all know the Lions are terrible, and always will be terrible. It's just so unnecessary for them to lose a game in that manner. It's like kicking a retarded puppy in the neck.

Such fools... We could easily be 3-0 going into our bye the way the Panthers and Steelers played today.

              I read the blog.

              He's wrong.

Megatron took three steps while falling to ground after contact. His knee hit the turf, the ball still in his possession. His left hand hit the turf, the ball still in his possession.

He was down, in the endzone, with the ball in his possession.

That is a touchdown. That is the definition of a touchdown.

The Eagles are getting racked by injuries. Mike Vick is actually doing quite well. A lot better than Kolb, at least. I don't think the Packers D are prepared to handle Vick. He already has 77 yards rushing and is a cool 5/6 for 39 yards passing.

He makes an excellent backup RB.

If he were a RB for fantasy purposes, I would pick him up in a heartbeat

Vick is doing very well even passing the ball. 12/17 for 124 Yds and 1 passing TD. He was throwing a lot of short passes but that last drive, he really stretched the field.

                        koy:

Hmm... let's see the likelihood of a 99 yard touchdown drive, especially versus the chance of a 1 yard gain for a TD. Also, compare the chance of a 99 yard drive compared to a 3 and out from the 1 yard line...

then, even if they scored the 99 yard TD, you still have options... down by 1 to begin with, if the other team scores a TD, that means you're only down by 8 which is attainable in 1 possession.

                          Kolb 5/10 24 yards 56.3 QB rating
Vick 16/24 175 yards 1 TD 101.9 QB rating with 11 carries for 103 yards

                          Hmm...

Vick makes a decent RB, doesn't he?

Having now seen the play in question, I agree, the Lions got jobbed. It's obvious CJ let go of that one intentionally because he felt he'd proved the score and wanted to celebrate. (I just posted the link to show you what else I was reading on the subject.)
