  • Losing in Green Bay by 2 is not an awful result.

Losing to the Bears at all, however, is.

But Green Bay lost to the Bears

Thanks, Imran, for pointing out that the New York Times is reporting what anybody who actually watched the Eagles game could see... Kolb struggled. For some reason, Ben thinks he looked great.

As for the Giants being on Sunday night twice now... The Manning Bowl was going to be a prime-time game no matter what... and the reason why the Giants were on prime-time last night was that it was the 85th anniversary of the Giants who played their first game Oct. 4, 1925, hence why the whole ring of honor ceremony at halftime and why all these Giants greats were in attendance.

So that's why two Giants Sunday night games in 4 weeks.

        • Guy, the Lions are on the road to being awesome. When it happens, I'm going to ram this up your ass.

Also, Kolb played like he was 5'6" tall. I was shocked at the amount of batted balls. 16 YEARS that he's collected a paycheck from the NFL. Is this guy the luckiest in the world or what?
Ben, he wasn't good. I'm sorry, but he wasn't.

Where did I say that Kolb had a great game? I said nothing of the sort.

Where did I say that? I'm not surprised to see Albert bagging on Kolb because race seems to be the relevant factor for him. He's the only one here, and his reaction was pretty much immediate I surmise that Kolb could dominate and Albert wouldn't breathe a word. That's just the way it is for him. Race is the relevant factor.

As for everyone else, I call em as I see em. Look at the sig, this is nothing new for him.

I'm not fan of Michael Vick as a human being either, but let's focus on performance here.
Neither am I. I'm not sorry to see him go down and see Kolb get his chance.

                  • Why is race a factor for me? Just because of the white RB thing? I'm sorry but I root for white RB's because I don't like the whole stereotype of slow white guys.

                    Same thing with white receivers.

                    Now that you're here... where's LT's visor?!

I do have a serious question though... I remember a few years ago there was some small hub-bub about Tomlinson's tinted visor. I remember reading that it was thought it gave him a slight advantage because his eyes wouldn't give away where he was going but that it was determined it was alright for RB's to wear visors but not QB's since the advantage to not being able to see where the QB is looking would be significant. Yet Vick wears a visor. His isn't dark but I still wonder about this. He's the only QB I can think of who wears a visor.

                    EDIT:

                    Actually, this looks tinted:

To me, paired with the race-baiting in nearby posts, it sounded like a claim that the media was supporting Vick due to race. If I was wrong, mea culpa.

Alby posted a pretty accurate portrayal of Kolb's performance. He said nothing about race, and implied nothing about race. But you did.

...switch Kolb and Vick's race and you'd be saying precisely the opposite.

Well Collins DID play a lot better than Cutler Collins managed to not get sacked even once.

Vick era is officially OVER! 2 games.

Personally, as a Maclin owner, I'm thrilled with the Kolb Era. Now, there is a future in Philly.
Anyone who saw the game... did Vick look like he was getting hammered? He was 5 for 7 for 49 yards (90.8 QB rating) and had 3 rushes for 17 yards before getting hurt. What hammered? Because they were down 14-0? Blame the defense for not being able to stop old ass Portis and practice squad signee Ryan Torain.

It's like when Ben said Vick struggled to beat the Lions because the Eagles put up 30+ points on offense and won by a small margin. THAT IS NOT ON VICK, WEIRDO!

I find the excitement expressed by Ben about Vick's injury bizarre (he was also ragging on him about the Detroit game, as I just mentioned... Ben has something against Vick) as is this idea that it's somehow GOOD for the Eagles to have Vick get hurt, especially in light of how badly the Eagles played with Kolb under center. I'm really pretty sure Ben didn't actually watch this game, as much as he was yapping about it.

Where is Ben? British Columbia? I don't imagine they would show an NFC East game over there.

                            • So all those inexplicable carries he was getting WAS a showcase for a trade after all... but not to Green Bay... to Seattle

The Buffalo Bills have traded running back Marshawn Lynch to the Seattle Seahawks, Lynch's agent, Doug Hendrickson, told The Associated Press.

Buffalo will receive a 2011 fourth-round pick and a 2012 conditional pick, a Seahawks team source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

To make room for Lynch on the roster, the Seahawks will release running back Julius Jones, a league source told Schefter.
Seattle? Justin Forsett was doing just fine and emerged as the guy in Seattle, having gotten 36 carries over the past two weeks. Go figure.
