  • Incidentally, under the Revised Guynemer Playoff Plan, we'd have the following playoffs: (only conference champs with a maximum of one loss...)

Auburn vs. winner of Wisconsin/Nevada (or Boise State, however the WAC determines their champ when they have three teams with 7-1 conference records)
    Oregon vs. TCU

And that's it. Nice and tidy.

    Other popular proposals:

Standard NCAA (conference champs + 5 at-large to make it a round number, based on last week's BCS standings): 1. Auburn (SEC) vs. 16. Florida International (Sun Belt); 2. Oregon (Pac-10) vs. 15. Miami (OH) (MAC); 3. TCU (MWC) vs. 14. UCF (C-USA); 4. Stanford (at-large) vs. 13. Connecticut (Big East); 5. Wisconsin (Big Ten) vs. 12. Nevada/Boise State (WAC); 6. Ohio State (at-large) vs. 11. LSU (at-large); 7. Arkansas (at-large) vs. 10. Virginia Tech (ACC); 8. Michigan State (at-large) vs. 9. Oklahoma (Big 12)

Conservative NCAA (conference champs + 1 at-large to give top 4 teams a bye): reseed the above with Stanford being the only at-large

Top 4 BCS: Auburn vs. Stanford; Oregon vs. TCU

Top 8 BCS: Auburn vs. MSU (or possibly Oklahoma when final BCS released); Oregon vs. Arkansas; TCU vs. Ohio State; Stanford vs. Wisconsin

BCS Conference + 2 at-large: Auburn vs. Connecticut; Oregon vs. Virginia Tech; TCU vs. Oklahoma; Stanford vs. Wisconsin

    • By your setup, why would TCU be left out of it? There needs to be a playoff series and do away with non-conference games. It's just that simple.

I'm not going to say "reading is fundamental," I'm only going to say maybe you should read my post again.

            • Outside of Ore-Aub, OSU-Ark, and Wisky-TCU, none of the bowls are really jumping out as must-see TV. Maybe MSU-Bama, maybe? We've even got a "Jesus, this **** again?" rematch between Nebraska and Washington. If this is the best the bowl system can offer, **** the bowl system.

Note: And calling OSU-Ark "must-see TV" is being awful generous.

              • I don't know why you wouldn't want to see OSU-ARK aside from a hatred of OSU. Seems like two exciting teams facing off. I addition, I'd like to see Stanford v. Virginia Tech. Florida v. Penn State may be interesting as well.

                      • Oregon has a good defense, from the little that I saw them. I think Auburn will win, but not by 30. Get in the Bowl Pick 'Em.

I want to get in on that one too (against Spencer's prediction).

                            • Where is this magical bowl pickum? I'm predicting victories for every bowl-bound SEC team (which is pretty much the whole conference). As I said before a 30 point Auburn blowout 44-14, and a similar score for BAMA against MSU since it'll be virtually the first game where they wont be playing a team coming off a bye week while they just played another top 25 team. They'll be rested and ready for bear!

As for wagers, that depends on the bet and odds. It's unreasonable if I lose if Auburn only wins by 20 for example.
