Yeah, I just saw. What in the world were they thinking?! Legends and Leaders? A logo that looks like a high school designed it (even that is generous) and keeping the "1", even though there are 12 teams?“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
- John 13:34-35 (NRSV)

It's beyond me why they don't just call it the Big Twelve. Any reason for the persistence with the old name?
And it's 10, Imran, not just 1. Look at how the G is 0-like.
I wonder how much they paid these guys to make the new logo.
Here's one of the designers' take:
"The new Big Ten logo was developed to symbolize the conference's future, as well as its rich heritage, strong tradition of competition, academic leadership and passionate alumni," Gericke said in the conference's release. "Its contemporary collegiate lettering includes an embedded numeral '10' in the word 'BIG,' which allows fans to see 'BIG' and '10' in a single word. Memorable and distinctive, the new logo evolved from the previous logo's use of negative space and is built on the conference's iconic name, without reference to the number of member institutions.""Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi
"I have nothing against Wilson, but he's nowhere near the same calibre of QB as Flutie. Flutie threw for 5k+ yards in the CFL." -Ben Kenobi

Seriously, rah: you, and/or your alleged twin, know a little something about advertising, marketing, etc. How the **** does an unmitigated catastrophuck like this--the logo and the division names--get past the initial fevered imaginings of muckety-mucks on painkillers? I mean, they HAD to focus group this ****, right? Who the **** was in the focus group? Were they surreptitiously slipped mescaline and PCP in their coffee?
What the ****ing ****? ARAAHRSIGHDJDGSHGDSJ
The only possible hope right now is that this is all an elaborate punking of Nebraska."My nation is the world, and my religion is to do good." --Thomas Paine

Big Ten logo(Hey, whaddyano, the smiley color is a match.)
Conference names
The MGoBlog post title is "Welcome to the Successories Conference."
How can the same group of people responsible for creating the BTN be responsible for this? Obviously the visionary bits of the BTN arrangement come from Fox, with Delany and company the lucky nomads who parked their camels in the right bit of desert and now get to call themselves an emirate. Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety. - Ben Franklin
Iain Banks missed deadline due to Civ | The eyes are the groin of the head. - Dwight Schrute.

I don't mean to sound arrogant, but... really? MSU, PSU, OSU? Northwestern and Michigan are a cut above the rest of the conference when it comes to academic reputation."My nation is the world, and my religion is to do good." --Thomas Paine

You are being a bit harsh on Penn State. Wisconsin is also pretty well respected academically.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

True, especially for Wisky, but in the Big Ten, NW and U-M are the top tier. Getting way off point here, however.
The point: WTF Big Ten?"My nation is the world, and my religion is to do good." --Thomas Paine
